NFL 2017-18

go get hoyer, he’s just been released.

but long term, you’re right...they’ll have two picks between 28ish and 34ish...they better hope darnold, rosen, or mayfield is there.

No way Rosen or Darnold make it that far, and that's if Darnold even declares this year. There is a lot of talk of him wanting to return to USC. They may have a shot at Mayfield though.

Attention Panthers fans (@TarHeelMark @coolwaterunc @carolinablue34 ), don't get too riled up about y'all beating Tampa.

The Bucs are A-W-F-U-L. Remember when before the season I said.....

Buccanneers

9-7 and only if some breaks go our way. Our GM should be fired for the Aguayo pick and then should be reinstated and then fired again. What a colossally dumb pick. I do not use hyperbole at all when I say I could've done his job better that day, and for a fraction of the pay.

Anyway, we have no running backs worth a damn and no elite edge rushers to pair with Gerald McCoy, so 9 wins is our max. I'm not buying this "Bucs are back" hype.
Hmm, yeah I stand by it. The "some breaks" aren't going our way... i.e. we're not winning any close games or any games we should win, based on how the game shakes out (vs. New England and at Buffalo come to mind).

Talent-wise, we're a 9- to 11-win team. Coaching- and franchise culture-wise, we're a 6-10 team. The Suckaneers are in fine form!!

cowboys aren’t trying to win anything right now.

can’t believe i stayed up until whatever reading these rulings and opinions on zeke.

he is getting screwed...hope the owners railroad roger.

There's nothing for us to get riled up about. Offense still sucks.
Yep. It was a road win, so despite how ugly it was, I'll gladly take it. Much Better than gift-wrapping the game to a team that earned 3 first downs.

Also, what the heck is going on with Jameis? I thought he was on the up, but seems like he is regressing. He didn't look good.

@TarHeelNation11 is muscle hampster under contract next year?
Yes, through 2020. Yet another dumb move by GM Jason Licht. You don't sign a 28-year-old back to a 5-year extension.

Anyway, Martin's contract is kinda squirrelly now because $15 million of his guaranteed money was voided due to his PED suspension. His cap hit is $6.75M next year and $7M in 2019 and 2020.

I've got a good friend in the organization's front office and another that works in NFL league office. Brown was the first to get on the anthem protest train on Texans roster last season and that says a lot especially here in TX. I think his wife is a radio personality on local urban station and you get the picture...Then he decided to skip preseason workouts and held out with 2 years remaining on contract, missed all of camp and first six games. Finally reported last Tuesday before the Seattle game but word is it was only because the trade was already in the works. Then re: McNair's comments released later in the week, I heard that Brown was pretty much the revolt leader in the locker room. Word is the team wanted to pull the stickers off the helmet for the game in Seattle but O'Brien talked them out of it.

Now I see why they traded him.

Yep. Most of the league does though.
Pundits are like "this is the great thing about the NFL! We are halfway through the season and no great teams have emerged yet!"

Uh, that sounds like a negative to me, not a positive. It's certainly boring. The NFL has turned into WWI. You sit and wait and hope attrition doesn't strike your team too bad, so you can stay healthy enough to make the playoffs. And then from there, the 3-4 actual good teams advance deep.

This is why I prefer college football over the NFL. Same with basketball. UNC / college hoops is way more entertaining than the NBA, especially in this "super team" era.

If it weren't for Fantasy Football, I probably wouldn't watch much NFL. But I play high stakes FF and I watch the shit out of the NFL because of it. My kids love the NFL too and they love following my fantasy players. All that is a nice segue to:

Dolphins trade RB Jay Ajayi to Eagles for 4th round pick

I have Ajayi on my team and he's been lackluster all year. Does a move to the Eagles make him more valuable or less? And the other thing, Wentz is my starting QB so how does Ajayi effect him? I love that the Eagles can't run the ball.

If Jerry hadn't been so supportive of Goodell during the DeflateGate railroading, we might have been past this bozo by now.

Goodell is a genius, he bones one team at a time so that the rest all go along with it. If Ray Rice, Hardy, DeflateGate, Zeke, Bountygate, etc. were all going on concurrently, his ass woulda been out awhile ago because all of those owners would have voted against him at the same time.

Also, right when the ratings start going down and jeopardizes future TV deals (ratings and TV deals being his calling card and what has allowed him to keep his job) - he plays it off as a result of the anthem protests, rather than what it truly is, people losing interest in the product (partially because of his shenanigans).

That's one of the main reasons a lot of people watch, I'm sure.

I have both as well. I feel like the move boosts Ajayi's value, and is neutral for Wentz.

I can't see the game scripts changing much for the Eagles, so they should still be throwing a lot. Now Ajayi will be on a team that can sniff the end zone, so his TD's should go up.

But I worry that Blount will vulture those goal line opportunities and worse yet, Wentz won't be throwing as many.

I don't know,...I just thought that Miami offense would start feeding Ajayi the ball more. He's not been very effective but his touches are down from last year. I am disappoint.

I wasn't too riled up. We won a game we easily had the potential to do so. I think that's one of aspects of winning that people really underestimate, it isn't just about talent, it's about the culture and mentality. I believe more than anything else that's why the Patriots are so good every year. That's also why the Panthers sucked so bad last year. It was injuries and a weak secondary, but also that our psyche was completely rocked by that Super Bowl loss.

We do have a pretty mean defense though, and I'm happy as hell about that. The front 7 is vicious and relentless. They're completely carrying the team right now.
