NFL 2017-18

Side note when I type in Diddy my phone wants to change it to sissy. Ha.

Anyway. Diddy wants to purchase the “North Carolina Panthers”. And his first order of business is to sign Kap and have him and Cam compete for the starting job.

Sounds like a solid prospect.

Yeah that’s a big “no” from me. Say what you want about Richardson, but the guy ran a tight ship.

Everyone with the “i dont know what a catch is” whining. Yes we do precisely know what a catch is. U just dont agree with the rule maybe but the nfl is very clear in defining a catch and very consistent in enforcing it. And the thing is...exactly as reflected on espn this morning...when ex receivers or anyone in general are told “okay so if the rule is bad tell us what the new rule should be”....THEY NEVER CAN ANSWER. There were two ex nfl receivers on this morning and NEITHER would answer the question. Both just kept blabbing about how stupid the rule is. Well if its that stupid TELL US WHAT IT SHOULD BE!!!! So i would be interested in knowing if any of u guys can come with a legal def of a catch that would withstand slow mo replay scrutiny. Cause to me...the present rule makes sense.
Here you go. The committee idea would be awesome. I might actually have to start watching the NFL again if they did that.

Ball in hands, 2 feet in. The end. No "football moves" no "survive the ground." None of that bullshit.

Ball in hands. Two feet down.

Please let this happen. As much as I think Cam is a dink, once Diddy buys the "North Carolina Panthers" and returns Kaep to his "rightful" spot as an NFL starting quarterback... maybe the Pats will sign Cam as the replacement for Brady now that we dealt Jimmy G away.

Obviously good news for the rest of the NFC South, but the entertainment level for the rest of the league will be nice too.

that’s what i’m saying...they immediately turn into must watch stuff.

also, there’s a dude on the radio reading the allegations right now re: richardson...he would ask females how they got in their jeans?...so basically, there’s a lot to this story because in a three hour time frame he decides to sell the team?

now, to prevent a possible league investigation and more embarrassment, he sells the team for 2-3 billion dollars...winning!!

ruled a catch/fumble

Looks like he's owed his millions of dollars back then.
I wondered the same thing, lol. While I certainly appreciate the victims' side of the story, they were obviously satisfied with the outcome or they wouldn't have taken the money and signed the NDAs. That all makes me wonder what business it is of the NFL to open cases that have already been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties involved.

Didn't SI write an article that prompted the investigation?

@TarHeelNation11 you watch a lot more college football than most of us: does this crap happen in college much, if at all?
To address this question and your other question, there's multiple answers. Short answer is no it doesn't seem to happen as much in college (at least in noteworthy games).

Long answer is, for starters, college is helped by it only being one foot and by touching the ground resulting in an automatic end of play. Because of this, the "extra effort" portion of these controversial NFL catches doesn't happen. There are other factors too such as college players aren't usually talented enough to make these efforts. The drops are usually much more obvious. And finally, even if it did happen a lot in college, it wouldn't cause anywhere near the same hubbub. About as many people watch your run-of-the-mill 4:25 regular season Eagles - Cowboys game as watch college football's national championship game. Anything that happens in an NFL game is going to be amplified in media coverage. Generally this isn't the case with college ball.

Oh lord that would be HORRIBLE! Can u imagine the blowback when it leaks out how certain people voted on game changing catches? Would be entertaining though!
I would be hoping that it leaked for that very reason. I would be sitting there with popcorn just waiting for the DBs and WRs to fight after a close call. It would be better than the game itself.

Is he selling the team immediately, or not? I hope not, as I doubt Diddy/Kaep/etc. could get the necessary funding to buy it that quickly. And NFL fans have earned the right to watch that ownership group crash and burn in magnificent fashion.

No just stepping down from day to day operations. Selling after season best I can tell.

Dammit. That will give the NFL long enough to realize the legal run-ins Diddy has had and will presumably cause them to block his bid to prevent further bad images for the league.
I think they would overlook it because he's black. After everything that has happened over the last couple of years, the NFL would love to have a minority owner. Unless he has beat on women his criminal past won't matter in today's climate.

True, he's only kicked the shit out of dudes (that we know about), so he should be all good.

In other Panthers news, Thomas Davis suspended two games and will appeal.
Now that is some bullshit right there. If some of those other hits only get one game, then two games for that hit is too much. And TD was obviously remorseful over on the bench. Unlike gronk, who acts like a ****ing retarded Frankenstein, coulda paralyzed that dude and only got one game.

I don't see how anyone can justify Davis getting two games right after Gronk got one. I mean Davis did light him up but at least it was part of an actual football play not an extracurricular WWE audition. WT actual F

someone on the radio mentioned he was a repeat offender?...is that true?

Yep, that's the NFL.

Not to get all Radar, but maybe the NFL reads this board and agreed with you here:

there's no place for assaulting defenseless people, even in football.

TD will hit somebody HARD, but over the years I don't recall seeing him headhunt or take deliberate cheap shots. I could be wrong and my memory is fading.

I definitely remember josh Norman and some of his BS. But not Davis.

Davis looked visibly upset on the sidelines that he got the dude helmet/helmet. I don't think it was intentional.

Because NFL punishments are levied by this process:
