(I don't even know if M&M is a respected show - I just know it's a well-followed one.)

As far as ESPN shows go - it's pretty good. Around the Horn is usually a bunch of clowns. PTI can be decent, but sometimes they go off on somewhat holier than thou tangents. His & Hers isn't very good. OTL is a bleeding heart leftist turned into a TV show. First Take is horrendous - it's hosted by my two most hated sports "analysts" in the world - Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless, at least they keep the two of those morons together on one show so I can avoid hearing them altogether.

My favorite ESPN show is probably SportsCenter at Night - with SVP. He keeps it interesting, is knowledgeable about a lot - but doesn't pretend to be when he's not. He also frequently mentions gambling, and has a "bad beat" section of the show where he goes into detail on some horrific backdoor covers, which is right up my alley.

Outside the Lines has to be the worst thing ESPN has ever put on television, by far. It is so, so, so terrible and is the epitome of lazy journalism and taking opinions on controversial sports topics without knowing all the facts. That, plus race baiting to the nth degree.

By the way, has anyone read any decent Tar Heel related books?

I bought 'What It Means to Be a Tar Heel' by Scott Fowler on Amazon last night, though it was a complete stab in the dark. I saw the foreword had been written by Roy himself, so assumed it must be fairly reputable.

Most of the books that show up on the Kindle store haven't got a review on them.

A coffee table book about Kenan Stadium (football stadium) is about to come out. It would be a fantastic one for you to get to learn about Carolina's rich football history (keyword "history" because aside from last season, almost all our success has come in the early and mid 1900s).

Hows The Sports Reporters these days on Sunday am?

I like PTI as well if on the treadmill.

yeah, f state.

Yeah- this is right. Duke is good to crack on during basketball season if they do something noteworthy, like Coach K being himself or them losing to Mercer and the moral character, or lack thereof, found in K is always good for a rant, but State is just plain awful.

Another good video here (on Syracuse's zone defence). Nice analysis on how Gonzaga failed to punish them, despite being able to get around the system regularly. Some bits from the Virginia game too.

(As you can tell I've spent the day watching game replays, motivational videos and a load of other junk in a feeble attempt to quell the building nerves. I almost wish I didn't have two days off work.)

^^

"Let's go Tah Hills" is what I imagine you're chanting while in your office watching these videos (Yes, that's my attempt to Anglicize "Tar Heels.")

Haha, you definitely got the 'Tah' bit right. I don't have that curve on the R.

My go to phrase during Heels games is usually "f*****'n get in there (whoever)!" - which doesn't mean 'get in the basket' or to get in the scramble for a loose ball, it's just the British way of expressing joy at a goal or something.

Most of the time I'm just making odd noises and doing the J Cole nod/exhale (that happened a lot in the first quarter of the Indiana game when Marcus went all Steph Curry on us).

Haha no "get STUCK IN Mahcus!!" exclamations? That's easily my favorite thing English soccer fans say when they're excited.

A classic - though don't think that one has come out yet. Who knows what will happen in the final four though, I've never watched the Heels in this particular situation. Maybe I'll lose my mind.

If we get complacent against Cuse I'll probably be pulling out the John Sitton lines.

"You've had two (well, about eight or nine really) good performances and nah you fink 'I'm Bertie facking big bollocks tonight.'"

LOL! ^ I have to say I can rock a pretty epic Scottish accent. My English accent is hit or miss. I'm better at the blue collar version than the regal-sounding version.

Completely random, but once I was curious if George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and the rest of the American colonialists had British accents in the 1700s. Turns out, not even British people had British accents (as we think of them today) back then. In that point in time, basically everyone who spoke English did so in a rhotic manner, meaning they pronounced ("curved") their R's. So words like "dinner" actually had an "er" at the end and not an "eh" or "uh." It was only into the 19th century that the well-to-do in England starting speak with a non-rhotic fashion, and that then spread to other areas. THE MORE YOU KNOW.

That's an excellent break-down!

Someone get this to Roy & Co.

UVa had Syracuse beat, badly, and then allowed Syracuse to dictate the pace, even while being behind!

I noticed Marcus had liked one of the guy's other videos on Twitter the other day, so I wouldn't be surprised if the smart young buck has it playing in the locker room at some point before Saturday!

Pretty sure he's the unofficial official head of analytics/useful Basketball tid bits in this team.

Easily makes the list of my all-time favorite movies.

Radar is a dumpster fire right now.

I have final 4 fatigue though. Just ready for the tip and to hell with articles and people yapping on the radio
I haven't heard a peep about it. Atlanta radio hasn't mentioned it once -- only mentioned the matchups. Mostly focusing on OU - 'Nova more because it's the better matchup.
