OOTB's Political Thread . ..

Poor people being left out to dry during a natural disaster is pretty much par for the course in the United states. Hurricane Katrina was a case study in how poor people, in the path of a storm like that, don't have a prayer on the city state or national level. The infrastructure and protocols, especially in a place like New Orleans, isn't set up to take care of them. It doesn't matter who is in the White House.

Too late! Crude oil ppb was around $76 Monday ($3 drop from Friday). I went to the gas station, where the ppg was $2.99, over the weekend, had gone up to $3.29 overnight.

I'm sorry, did you run out of lies? I'm sure you'll think of more.

"Do not, let me repeat, do not use this as an excuse to raise gasoline prices or gouge the American public", said Biden. "My policies are raping them enough as it is."

Once again you are LYING, bluetard.

George Bush was never accused of being responsible for Hurricane Katrina. That’s absolutely ludicrous.

What he was responsible for was his delayed response to Hurricane Katrina, including remaining on vacation on his Texas ranch for two days after the hurricane struck. He had already been on vacation for 27 days prior to Katrina making landfall.

Furthermore, Bush declined to visit the devastated area in the aftermath of the storm. His supporters agreed that his slow reaction and the weak federal response undermined Bush's reputation for being an effective crisis manager or a decisive leader.
I thought you guys liked Bush now. Anyway, I think he was accused of causing Katrina. It's global warming, you see. LOL

Did Trump give any corrections on Ian's predicted path? Or is he saving his sharpies for marking-up declassified docs?

Too bad Ian didn't make a sharp right after coming ashore yesterday, cut across the peninsula and take out Mar-a-Lago. But there is still time with other developing storms in the Atlantic.🤞🤞🤞

The TDS is strong......
I think the squad literally thinks OMB is still in office. Their only response to legitimate criticism of the current administration is to harp on Trump. They refuse to discuss inflation, sky high oil and gas prices, skyrocketing crime, and the invasion at our southern border. Why do they refuse to discuss these issues? Because they are responsible for them. All they have is Orange Man Bad, Orange Man Bad, ad infinitum. I’d feel sorry for them if they weren’t doing so much damage to our country, and therefore to the whole world’s stability.

And you refuse to see the immense damage the MAGA mentality and ethos is doing the to the country. Fair criticism goes both ways, Arch. Idk how many times I have to remind you of that.

we might have somehow overlooked the examples you provided of that actually happening. Don't want to put you to a lot of trouble, but would you mind providing those again? TIA.

Specifics or you're just parroting the left-wing media.
She’s parroting the MSM. She is always criticizing anyone who voted for OMB, despite accusing us of not being open minded. IOW, your typical hypocritical Dem. I have criticized Trump on many occasions. I have said that I hope he doesn’t run in 2024. She ignores that fact. But Trump isn’t President and hasn’t been for almost two years. If she would simply compare the important stats from when Trump left office to now(inflation, cost of fuel/gas, violent crime rates, cost of groceries, numbers of illegals entering our country, etc…, she would see there’s no doubt that this administration has been an abject failure. But she won’t do that, none of the squad will either. They have blinders on.

Let’s try something. Grade the job Biden and his administration have done to date on an A,B,C,D,F scale on the following issues:

My grades:
Economy: F (record spending leading to record inflation, nuff said)

Border security: F (record number of illegals entering the country, most unvetted)

Afghanistan: F (total fiasco, could not have been handled worse)

Foreign relations: D (Im being kind here)

Unifying the country: F (he’s intentionally done the opposite)

Energy independence: F (we were energy independent, no longer thanks to Biden)

Groomers are global. There is a reason they want to sexualize children and are intensely doing so via the institutions they control, like most public educational systems.

" The Spanish Minister of Equality Irene Montero recently spoke before a legislative commission and said that children “have the right to know that they can love and have sexual relations with ANYONE that they want” and that no adult may touch a child’s body, but only “if they don’t want them to.”

Does the Maga hurt your feelings or what?

You operate under the erroneous assumption that this is about “feelings.” As though being offended or not offended by something is how I look at politics It is simply the health of the country as a whole. And by the way, this is not a ringing endorsement of Biden. Both sides irritate me greatly.

Um, you guys are the ones ruining the health of the country as a whole right up and down the line, and the absurd TDS claiming Trump was Putin's puppet and all the other continuous lies spewed by the dem media are a huge part of dividing the nation.

Of course, now the same nonsense is spewed towards De Santis who has done a great job as governor. So it's not Trump's mean tweets or rudeness. You guys hate anyone disagreeing with your agenda.

Now ya'll are going after the children. Just horrific, obscene and monstrous with very few democrats speaking up against grooming children.

Chief among them? Normalizing denying election results or crying fraud before and/or after. A huge chunk of the GOP candidates running in battleground states either have refused to say Biden is President or outright endorse that he didn't win. And I hope every single one of them loses. There has been no evidence of the kind of conspiracy needed to swing an American Presidential election from one person to another. We all have to accept that our side loses sometimes and that's okay.

This one goes both ways but MAGA endorses grievance culture as much as left wing progressives. This whole idea 'things are so much worse now, things were better back in the day'. Or the idea that Democrats are 'coming for your guns'. Maybe it's the trannies coming to convert your kids at an elementary school. Or that the military is going soft because it ran a diversity ad. It's all pearl clutching and fear mongering. It's the worship of ignorance over reason.

Divisiveness. Dems and GOPers have been sniping at each other for decades but Trump truly pushed it to a whole new level. Trump called civil servants 'sick people' when issuing an executive order stripping them of job protections as one example. He uses this kind of intense hyperbole to play into people's fears and resentments. He played footsies with the Proud Boys. There isn't a line he won't cross. My father once supported Trump and has since disavowed supporting him again for the simple fact "he has ability but no ethics." I do not want the walking embodiment of a narcissistic movement in power.

Trump himself is not a pious man, nor religious. But he enables those that are militantly so. He enables those who believe and spread conspiracy theories. He enables people looking for a fight. Many MAGA types are just plain crazy when it comes to enforcing what they see as 'Christian values' or eliminating any distinction between freedom of religion and freedom from the dogma the Christian right often wish to instill in public life.

This does not apply to every person who has and does support Trump. Nor every Republican or conservative. It's an important distinction. But these are the general hallmarks and they apply to almost every right wing populist movement in history. Those almost always spell disaster for individual liberties, freedom of the press, and rule of law.

There's a laundry list of things that annoy the f**k out of me when it comes to Democrats and far left progressives. In fact, just to show I'm not a complete partisan, I'm happy to list them all in a second reply.

" Normalizing denying election results or crying fraud before and/or after."

You mean like Bush/Gore in 2000 or not accepting Trump beat Hillary fair and square and protesting all over the nation, including acts of arson?

That kind of denying? oh, I see. It's democracy in action when your side does it and on false grounds but when there are clear, numerous facts and evidence of the election being stolen, that's Ok if it benefits the dems.

And only ignorant people deny the democrat party engages in stealing elections. They've been doing that for 140-150 years, What do you think Jim Crow was about? Or Tammany Hall? Difference now is all these federal agencies are primarily staffed by democrats and so they use them as well to steal elections.

" Or the idea that Democrats are 'coming for your guns'. "

Well considering that's exactly what they have publicly said they want to do, no one but a deluded person would imagine otherwise.

Trump isn't the cause of the division. He was never as divisive and nasty as you guys. He just fought back and that enrages the control freaks of the Left and even many moderates. No president has ever had as many false charges, witchhunts and nastiness thrown his way as Trump.

You guys even did a very nasty vagina-hat march the day after he came into office, Let's face it. The division stems from people like yourself. The rest of us grew tired of it and are happy if a guy like Trump hurts your feelings and makes you afraid because frankly it's high time you got over it.

Low inflation, a booming economy, the border coming under control, peace breaking out all over the world, energy independence and dominance, the list goes on, and now you wackos have near destroyed it all and will destroy everything if you have your way.

If the election was held exactly as it had been every other Presidential election, Trump would have won. I think even you believe that. The Dems created enough fear and hysteria over the pandemic to scare everybody into accepting changes to the election process.

Things are good? There is hard core evidence that things are worse. Yes, back in my day of 2019, inflation was much better. Back in my day of 2019, gas was affordable. Back in my day, the US was the top dog. We ran the world and when we said "jump", other countries asked "how high". I liked it that way. Most people liked it that way even if they wouldn't want to admit it. I don't give a shit if other countries like us. I want them to respect and fear us. F*ck all that kum-bah-yah shit.

Did Trump invite the Proud Boys to the White House like Obama did with BLM? No? Is that not cozying up?

Roughly 65% of America subscribes to Christianity. Why would a President not support the dominant religion while also acknowledging the freedom to worship whatever you want? That number used to be 90% by the way. As recently as the 1990s. What else was happening in the 1990s? Oh that's right, we were experiencing the greatest decade of the country's history.
