OOTB's Political Thread . ..

You’re a racist mutha ****a eddie
That's a quote from Good Morning, Vietnam where the protagonist is mocking GI racists in a bar in Saigon because they wouldn't let him bring his vietnamese friend into the bar. Sorry if you weren't familiar with the reference.

biggest diff: they weren't a coordinated effort to overthrow the gov.

And last I checked blm rioters are charged with crimes if they commit crimes.
hardly.

In reality, I think the OBVIOUSLY biggest difference is that in the J6 case, they are looking under rocks and behind trees to find people to charge and prosecute, whereas there were a ton more of similar or worse crimes committed by antifa/BLM and associated types that have been largely swept under the rug. In other words, the difference is in the political motivation to make a big deal or a smaller deal out of particular criminal activities.

Furthermore, the assertion that overthrowing the government was in the plans is plainly ludicrous. Only the deranged mind of the liberal could assert that a (relative, for the comprehension-challenged) handful of unarmed people thought that they might accomplish this. Were they challenging the authority? Of course. But challenging authority is as American as blackberry cobbler. It's the manner in which authority is challenged that carries the potential crime.

I would love to be challenged on this.

Blackberry cobbler à la mode is a life changer
I happen to have some blackberry pie I got from Lowes (Foods) in the fridge, and I have some vanilla ice cream bought for that purpose. Not nearly the same a a good cobbler, but it's blackberries. And I have some homemade blackberry sauce to make it even better.

I've been waiting for a good occasion to bring it out, and if we win tonight that will suffice.

Pumpkin is the go to for me. Apple is amazing. I will never say no to a cobbler, however.
ha, that's a good one...wait, you're serious?

I hope you know you're eating squash pie. Pumpkin pie filling is made from a squash that they call a pumpkin, plus just plain squash. I'll just have some sauteed squash and you can have my share of 'pumpkin' pie..

I think pecan pie is delicious because I love pecans, but I feel like I'm eating a huge glob of pecan-flavored sugar. Too rich for me but I'll indulge once in a blue moon.

Which brings me to my favorite pie, key lime pie. At a restaurant in the Cayman Islands I got their KLP and the filling was light almost like a meringue sort of thing, and it was easily the best dessert I ever had. If I go to a restaurant and they offer KLP, I'm going for it even if I don't feel like dessert.

for me HOMEMADE KLP is the best desert ever. and the best version of it is served at a bakery called "Sugar Island" in Surf City (Topsail Island). also, you know KLP is homemade (and will be damn good) when it's more brownish in color than green.

#2 - banana pudding
#3 - my wife's espresso dark chocolate cake
#4 - chocolate meringue pie
#5 - rocky road ice cream

I wonder if anyone here has ever had rhubarb pie. More a northern thing but if you like things a little (or a lot) on the tart side, Rhubarb pie is awesome.

I'm not a cake guy except for carrot cake, which I'd stab your grandma in the eye for if I had to. But that espresso dark chocolate cake is intriguing.

i see what you did there bill hader GIF
I think the difference is pretty black and white.

Yea I’m negligent in leaving out klp. There’s a brand of key lime juice called Nellie and joe’s that has a klp recipe on the back I use a lot. It’s basically sweetened condensed milk with a little juice and egg yolks. About 1000cals a slice. But dayummmmmm…..

I'm familiar with Nellie and Joe's. For sure better than trying to find and juice a bunch of tiny key limes.

Rhubarb pie? You've got to be kidding. I've heard of it before but damn if I ever want to eat it. Unless I'm arrested and sent to the penitentiary because that's exactly what it sounds like -- prison food.

Who the heck puts veggies in pie?!

You guys have just never tasted a good homemade pumpkin pie before.

I've had rhubarb pie a few times. It's actually really good.

If you go to the penitentiary, you'll be tossing too many salads to worry about whether there's rhubarb in them.

But rhubarb leaves are the tits. You should try some rhubarb leaves. Lots of them. Lots and lots of them.

Strawberry-rhubarb is awesome, but then again I think pumpkin pie is up there with fruit pies above pecan pie, choco, chess, custard, coconut.

it's peCAN ... not peCAHN
when I open my mouth to say this word, I have no idea which version is going to come out. I believe that either is acceptable, but peCAHN lends an air of superiority over other nuts. And it is superior in many ways. Try smoking a turkey or shoulder with it. It is magical.
