OOTB's Political Thread . ..

Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger were appointed by Trump? This explains many of your posts.
Lol. No worries. These elected house members that apparently “Trump appointed” - Biden “disappointed” in 2022 elections. How can one be so stupid on how this stuff works - yet feel confident to comment on it?

One thing lost in the j6 discussion is the remarkable restraint shown by the capitol police. I woulda set up a .50 cal on the roof to clear the area. I know it’s hard to shoot sweet little old maga ladies sight seeing but you just gotta remember to not lead them as much.
Replace j6 / MAGA with BLM / antifa, and we’re all good. Right?

Or is the multiple times more human life loss, property loss, injury cause by Blm (vs J6) - different, better, more justified cause?

If the blm riots and damage caused is acceptable, tolerable compared to the (minuscule in comparison) J6 3 hour riot - why is this?

What makes the blm riots over months nationwide, (worldwide) superior, noble, virtuous?

I don't think anyone here has said the other rioting was justified. There have been several who have said J6 rioting wasn't a big deal, though. Some even say it's a conspiracy. I'm assuming you think both were a big deal? But let's stop with the, "Billy did it too" arguments that both sides use. If you tell your kid it's dumb, surely the same standard should be applied to an adult.

everything's relative, right? It's no big deal compared to other episodes of unacceptable behavior....it is comparably no big deal....yet where are the hearings FOR those other episodes, is what that is saying. And it isn't whataboutism or any other argumentative happy horseshit, it's a legitimate question. I can't help but conclude that the qualitative difference between those number of episodes is simply who is calling the shots at the time. The lack of scandal surrounding the antifa riots and other similar events is made even more reprehensible by the relative piling on of the J6 hearings and surrounding noise.

I'm not sure how this isn't obvious to anyone other than the hopelessly biased.

You’ll have to ask someone who thinks so.

As for me I’m just relishing the thought of seeing some Qanon dip shit straight from living off the grid in Montana playing GI Joe in his paint ball gear and waving his trump flag getting his head blown off. Ahhhh yesssss it would be a great movie. I’m picturing Robert Duvall in the aftermath in his cavalry hat walking through the sea of mutilated corpses…. with their zip tie hand cuffs intended for pelosi still attached to their belts…. surveying the carnage. Smoke drifting through the air….one survivor reaches up…weakly says…..
“must….hang….pence!” Duval takes out his .45 and applies the coup de gras. Glorious. Meanwhile at the WH federal agents arrive to arrest trump. He tries to run clutching a McDonald’s bag but he leans too far forward and all that upper body weight shifts and he staggers for several feet before he falls and rolls all the way down the WH steps taking out Marjorie green Taylor green and that brunette **** on the way down. What’s her name? I can’t remember. His comb over is sticking straight up like bill Murray’s in kingpin as he rolls back and forth waving his arms frantically trying to get up. Giuliani runs over to help…he can’t get him up….the exertion causes his hair dye to run down his face into his eyes and blinds him. He starts screaming “my eyes! My eyes!” Trump tries to roll over again still clutching his bag of double cheeseburgers and lets out a series of huge farts. He gives up and right before the agents descend upon him he proclaims “I’m pardoning me, I’m pardoning me!” He has to be air lifted into custody. The orange stain trailing down the steps takes days to remove.

TC is a toxic grifter whose sole purpose is to profit from riling up his viewers. Anyone should take whatever he says about J6 with a massive grain of salt.
Everything we hear from the MSM should be taken with a massive grain of salt.
That means there's over 40,000 hours of not bad acts. You are smarter than this.
No, he isn’t.
I mean we know enough to know it wasn’t the FBI and antifa. That’s just pure conjecture at best.
Do we? I think not.
No one was "kicked off." There were two Republicans on the committee and five others hand picked by Kevin McCarthy to serve. Two of them, Jim Jordan and Jim Banks, both of whom were outspoken election and January 6 deniers, were turned away by Nancy Pelosi for fear they would intentionally sabotage the hearings. The other three then refused to join.

I wish Pelosi had instead allowed Jordan and Banks to take part. I'm pretty sure they would have only made utter fools of themselves at the cost of the efficiency of the committee.
I wish she had allowed them to serve as well. It’s obvious why she didn’t. She was stacking the deck, much as the Mueller Investigation Committee was stacked to attempt to achieve a predetermined outcome.
I've wondered about this ever since that day. Why didn't the Capitol Police just mow them all down on the lawn? It would have simplified this whole matter we're now facing, and it would certainly have made for some really cool footage. My favorite part about that day is when that dumb chick tries to squeeze through a door window and gets blasted.
You’re a sick bastard.

With a pitch like that you should be in Hollywood writing screenplays! Or if you don't feel like relocating, I know some people in Wilmywood who could green-light your idea. Have your people call mine.

Your entire post was an entertaining read, but I thought this particularly segment was super rich with irony in light of the real life events of the video being released that Joe had fallen UP yet another set of steps getting into AF1.

That's in the sequel where they introduce the character affectionately known as Brandon. Brandon is almost a mythical beast - an octogenarian with the mind of a toddler. But when pumped full of meds, he becomes an angry, evil, stuttering, faux tough guy. In one scene in particular, he delivers a tough guy message moments before getting on his bike that unbeknownst to him, has no training wheels. He flops to the ground and flails around like a white duke basketball player before his minions come to pick him up and inject him with more "vitamin juice" (as Brandon calls it).

Can he let us know what those regulations are or should I just take his word for it?
Good question and good catch.

It turns out that the Obama-era regulations "adopted requirements designed to reduce the consequences and, in some instances, reduced the probability of accidents involving trains transporting large quantities of flammable liquids and regulated their operation in terms of speed restrictions, braking systems, and routing."

However, although the derailed Norfolk Southern train in East Palestine was carrying hazardous materials including vinyl chloride, it didn't meet the category of a high-hazard flammable train (HHFT) or regulation overturned by Trump in August 2018 since it wasn't carrying crude oil or ethanol.

"Even so, if the rule had gone into effect the Norfolk Southern train still likely would have been equipped with the brakes — known as Electronically Controlled Pneumatic brakes — said Cynthia Quarterman, who played a major role in crafting the rule and other train safety requirements as administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration during the Obama administration."

More importantly, it's easy to try to blame trump for this since almost everything gets blamed on him. What's hard is that Joe has signed a million execute orders, including a bunch on the day and during the week he took office. If "Trump had done X", Joe could have reversed it like everything else. Thus, it's still on THIS administration if a regulation changed by orange would have prevented this disaster.

That's an overly simplistic interpretation. In his first 100 days in office, Joe Biden signed 52 executive orders and memorandums, including reversals of some of Trump's policies as well as introducing new executive actions. These actions included a broad range of issues such as Coronavirus, the environment, national security, healthcare, and labor just to name a few.

Of all the proceedings of national interest to consider, the fact that one specific policy regarding the transporting of hazardous materials was not reversed is purely hindsight at this point. Trump is to blame.

Because Trump is always to blame.

Per Ballotpedia: "As of February 22, 2023, President Joe Biden (D) had signed 107 executive orders, 126 presidential memoranda, 381 proclamations, and 76 notices."

Joe could have cut all that by at least half if he would have just signed one EO that said all actions by orange are null and void such that they revert back to their status at the end of Barry and my administration.

And most of those executive actions have really had such a profoundly positive impact on the state of the country 🤣

Yes, of course Trump is to blame - he always is, right? If only the new administration had *checks notes* over two years to reinstate this policy if they thought it was beneficial, when Trump had managed to remove the policy in 6 months after getting into office. Or maybe if only there was a Department of Transportation with its own Secretary appointed by the President to focus on issues such as these without having to focus on all of the other issues you referenced above.

It clearly wasn't a priority. Is that because they saw no issue with not having the policy, or because focusing on that policy didn't check enough boxes on woke issues to warrant priority treatment - we may never know.

It's okay, fellas, really. Yesterday Team Trump made up for it by taking the sick folks in East Palestine pallets of 13-year-old bottled water that's been kept around since Trump Water went under in 2010. If the toxic air from one train wreck doesn't kill residents, the poisonous chemicals leeching from the plastic bottles of a different train wreck certainly will.

FOX News sets the record straight.

rolling-on-the-floor-laughing.gif

"The report said that after hearing a warning from the hot bearing detector on Train 32N, the train’s engineer, who Homendy said already was braking due to a train ahead, 'increased the dynamic brake application to further slow and stop the train.'"

I'm not a train engineer, but it sounds like this "dynamic brake application" is the very thing that was to be replaced by the much safer and more efficient Electronically Controlled Pneumatic brakes that Trump cancelled.

Right. It doesn’t measure up to Biden’s visit….wait….

Oh, that’s right, he was publicly fellating Zelensky instead.

America last.

This is all kind of a moot point. From what I understand, this is largely on the railroad, which is privately owned. To turn this into yet another Biden vs. Trump thing is utterly ridiculous.
You're right, this is foremost the responsibility of Norfolk Southern. But the fact that Trump turns it into a campaign stop in a battleground state for 2024 speaks to his hypocrisy and poor taste and opens the door to criticism.

Not nearly as egregious as the sitting President ghosting them in favor of Ukraine.

And lol at battleground state. Ohio is increasingly red and largely Trump supporters.

Let’s stop talking about how bad Biden is as President. Instead, look at this f*ckin moron.

not so fast, transcriber. She says 'exasperates' not 'exacerbates' as the text suggests. I can't understand why they haven't locked that dummy in a closet somewhere, because every time she opens her mouth, the country's apparent collective IQ drops perceptibly.

In addition to denying the 4700 people of East Palestine, Ohio, an in-person visit by now, remember the time Joe Biden withheld $20 billion in Congress-appropriated relief for over 3 million folks in Puerto Rico after the devastation from Hurricane Maria in 2017?!?!

Oh, wait. Wrong president.

Don’t forget we gotta rake those leaves in the forest too

Any claims you’ve ever made about being independent are jokey. Your repeated, purposeless whataboutism exposes you as a simpleton, programmed, democratic sheep. Please stop with the embarrassing efforts to convince anyone here that you’re not a liberal dickrider with a severe case of TDS.

Bahahahahahaha!!! I love it how criticism and ridicule of your orange idol makes someone a liberal dickrider. It really exposes your mindless programmed hero worship. Yea I got TDS. I’m eat up with it. It comes from recognizing a fpos when I see one. I’ll always ridicule the lying slime ball and the hypocrisy you rw fuknuts employ in defending him and what fools he’s made of you and the repub party. and when the day comes he makes this planet better by dying I’ll add dancing on his grave to my bucket list. And as for what you or anyone here thinks about my political leanings? I don’t give a fuking rats ass. If it helps your fragile ego to dismiss common sense ridicule of the former clown in chief as partisan politics then knock yourself the fuk out.
