shit, what is it now, 15 or so? Why even have an election, it's all over.
I can just imagine people following Arnold's drivel and following suit on voting for Harris. Arnold finished his governorship with disapproval ratings in the 60 + % range. In this drivel, he harps on Trump challenging the election he lost and says Trump will divide the country. Well wake up there Arnold, the country is already divided and the political obstructionism waged against Trump as president is exactly why it's divided..
do you have even an inkling of how moronic it is to meet an effort to return us to responsible spending with negativity? Of course there would be pain, because that's what it takes to avoid the much greater pain we are headed for, not to mention the current pain of paying the interest on our debt such that that has become the second largest consumer of our taxes. We better wake up and decide to live with some responsibility. The government has become a monster that is almost beyond being reeled in.

oh, but it won't be a permanent collapse, we think, just a few years, then we'll bounce back stronger as a country. And of course it won't hurt billionaires much during those few yrs, just the middle class, the poor, people remotely close to paycheck-to-paycheck.

why is it imprinted in the brains of you and your ilk that billionaires are to be punished for being successful? How do you not understand that they should be venerated and held up as examples of what can be achieved? Where does the resentment come from? I wager that I grew up as poor as anyone here and have been lucky enough to escape the bottom to become reasonably comfortable. I had to work my ass off and literally at times grovel in dirt to do it. At no time did I resent the fact that so many had much more than me. I am HAPPY that we have a system that rewards those who strive to achieve the top, and yet allows those who have no such ambition to live better than the rest of the world anyway.
There are examples of the filthy rich attaining wealth in a wrong way and of course I don't support that. But it's the 'wrong way' part that needs correcting, not the 'filthy rich' part.
I thought this had just become a thread where we poasted tweets of people endorsing a particular candidate that meant absolutely nothing.

I wonder if any reasonable person even bothers to read these articles, since they know they are going to get half the story with the bonus of any facts presented being those that out of context tend to lay blame for misfortune at the feet of republicans. It's sorta like the Musk assessment above that predicts how Trump's economic plans will ruin the US Economy. If the electoral college puts him in office, and his leadership ruins the economy... I guess that's what was necessary to convince the half that wanted it so bad. If they all lose their health insurance, and get sick and die or their families are dying at a higher rate... and their economy is in ruin... they might be open to a different way and then vote for it.

I am for space exploration to the effect that it enhances our life here on Earth and the Earth itself. Beyond that I am absolutely opposed to things like Musk's dream of going to Mars. I think it is entirely stupid to waste money and brainpower on that sort of irrelevancy.. At some point much further down the road when technology has made it much more feasible and hopefully we haven't developed and paved every open square inch of wildlife habitat, then fine go for it. But there are massive needs to spend money on this planet, and addressing global warming is one of those needs.
I have tried to make it plain that I am as conservative as Atilla the Hun, but my greatest priority is the very Earth we inhabit.
There are tons of republicans who deny science. There are just as many libs who champion science but who don't understand the first thing regarding it. Science and technology has made our lives almost a living dream compared to the default human condition over time. But science and technology has been stupidly used to provide immediate gratification at the expense of long-term well-being. If we had a collective sense of reason instead of a collective sense of 'what about me?', we would support the sciences and technology as much as possible, because doing so would no doubt give us a heaven on Earth we wouldn't need to fight over.

anything is a dumbass thing to say when you want to virtue-signal about it. People who don't have such a need would understand that everything we deal with is subjective to some extent. What's dumb is to suggest that you can't opine on something because of its subjectivity, or refuse to discuss something because individual opinions vary. OF COURSE it's all subjective but so what? We decide by various methods to pigeonhole and draw lines, and then we live with them until we change them. The idealization that you insist on there being not only does not exist, it's unattainable. It's better to strive for some collective ideal while recognizing the limitations...and not crawling under some philosophical rock because the world isn't perfect.
I suppose in that bizzarro world of yours, we just sit and watch it all do whatever its going to do and virtue-signal our asses off over our not achieving an unachievable perfection..
