You don’t owe anyone anything. But if you want to choose to not be empathetic about the history of how America has treated black people, then you’re just an asshole.

I've been perma-banned off of one forum and I was actually trying to get banned. It isn't like I'm some Billy the Kid of the Rivals networks. Besides, when you aren't a woke sissy, sometimes you'll speak some truth that will piss people off. I've found that the best way to piss people off isn't to troll them. All you have to do is tell them the truth.
I'm with you on that - but I think embarrassing is a bad word to use to describe America's treatment of black people from 1776-like 1975 and a REALLY bad word for the Nazi's killing 6 million Jews.

I think most people want action...they just disagree about what action, don't have the right steps in place to get action, and are just generally shitty about getting action done.
I lived on Wall St during Occupy Wall Street. They all knew what was bad but none of them had a single focused plan on how to change it. Then it devolved into a bunch of unemployed hippies smoking weed all god damn day but that's another issue all together.

I read whoever reports the news. I frequent The Intercept quite a bit because I respect Glenn Greenwald. That's hardly a "heavily leaning right news site".
That's fine and my post wasn't meant to be an attack at all. Just saying I'm more likely to read something you post if I know it's not from some site with an alexa rank in the millions and skewed heavily in one way or another.
That Trump piece was on every news site out there so I'm not saying it's fake news, just saying it helps to choose an unbiased link cuz I think most of us want unbiased news.
Oh, I agree that you have to take what some of these sites say with a grain of salt, but that's all of them, the NYT and WaPost included. I generally don't pay attention to fact check sites, because they're often a source of the problem as well. I always look for some kind of quotes, or videos of the actual story are often available now with the actual dialog. If someone just posts something without any kind of citation I'm always cautious about that story.

I read that earlier. Not sure why Iran is getting so bold lately. I guess they want us to attack to give them justification to start making nukes. I'm not worried about a war at this point though. If they start going after our people, then it becomes a real possibility.
I'd bet that the drone was in fact in their airspace and they felt justified in shooting it down without the ramifications being war.
My concern is wars win elections. Convenient time for Trump right now to have Iran start shooting down drones.
It's possible it was in their airspace, but I don't see what our motivation would be to do that. Wars don't always win elections. Bush almost lost because of a war. If you want to win an election, make sure everyone has money in the bank. People tend to vote with their wallet.
