OOTB's Political Thread . ..

right...but the testimony was that too much pressure was applied to his neck, and common sense dictates that no observer could possibly tell what pressure was being applied, especially one not directly witnessing the incident.

The preliminary autopsy report noted that airway restriction caused by pressure on his neck was NOT the cause of death, but that was changed for the actual report, IIRC. This was a de facto lynching.

Well it was a guilty verdict to keep BLM from burning down half the state.

You're still obsessing over these hearings, poopslinger? How will you ever find time to save the children with your head filled with nothing else besides these pesky hearings?! At 3pm today you'll be doing the same thing as Donald Trump -- furtively pulling up a chair and watching the coverage on CNN.

I guess I'll be one of the dozens of people tuning in.

just to be clear; that cop was convicted, but it was no way proven that he killed him. It wasn't even proven that what the cop was doing COULD have killed him. There was just no way that he was going to get a fair trial, and there was no way anyone was going to have the guts to give honest testimony in favor of acquittal. He was scapegoated, he was railroaded, and he was figuratively lynched. All over a steaming pile who was effectively killing himself.

The cop was wrong to hold Floyd down as long as he did, and he deserved some degree of punishment for that. But he didn't murder him.

Mostly true. However, Chauvin was trained to do exactly what he did. Therefore, he should not have been convicted. You want to gripe about the tactics that the LEOs are taught? Fine. But he was doing as instructed. And yes, of course, they needed to convict him for the safety of everyone in that city for sure but really across America.

But all of that is assuming the whole thing went down like we've been told. I won't say I completely believe the theory that the Dems put the entire show together but I don't disbelieve it. After seeing what we've seen from them, it's not illogical to believe the entire thing was set up. From Georg having counterfeit money, to the police stopping and interacting with him to Derrick Chauvin being compromised and receiving some kind of benefit from it. That's how low I think the Dems can go and have gone.

Lastly, the notion that anyone should care and raise hell about a piece of shit like George being killed is just moronic. Candace said it best when she asked, "why are blacks the only ones that celebrate the lowest class of their race?" It's true. They don't get mad when a black doctor gets passed over for chief resident. Because that black guy is just Uncle Tommin' it. But boy, they'll go to war for criminals. It's bizarre.

Not only are you obsessing over the hearings but, predictably enough, you're also in denial. Today's televised session should be a doozy as we learn the sinister details of how Trump tried to weaponize the Department of Justice to illegally overturn the election results. Must see TV, for sure!

I hereby dedicate this thread to Shaye Moss and her mother Lady Ruby Freemen, both of whom thumbed their noses at Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani amid their highly illegal intimidation tactics following the 2020 vote count. Congratulations, ladies!

I dont know who this lady is and what she said but her testimony must be true because no one ever lies.

Some people claim the gun type makes no difference or impact on the response of cops and security officers, but in this case it did. That's my only point.
In this case you had a misinformed, cowardly officer who was going to use as much information as he had to try to avoid going into a fight. Since they had AR15's and all reviewing parties believe the officers posessed "more than enough firepower" to confront the shooter, it's pretty clear you cannot take what Arredondo said as a proper trained response to an active shooter situation to begin with. The AR15 excuse was cover for his cowardice.

Cops fvck up like this all this time - because they're human and gunfights suck. Even military guys have trouble in actual combat. These guys aren't all Charles Bronson.

And regardless of there being non-pistols without him admitting it or knowing, he still used it as an excuse. Even if you are saying it was only theoretical because rifles were in cop's hands, it is still being used as an excuse. Ignorance about other cop's guns, and cowardice were involved, among other mistakes, but regardless of those things the type of weapon made a difference in response.

Ok, lil fella. We all now know of your emotional problems based on your rough home life and I have vowed to treat you delicately because of it. No longer will I call you a moron and I apologize for having done so in the past. There is worth to you even if your dad couldn't see it. I still urge you to seek therapy. I think talking out your issues with a professional will do you some good.

In the meantime, try to stay away from these topics here at the board and on TV as those kind of things prey upon those with emotional disturbances. And I'll say a prayer for you at dinner time this evening. God bless you.

Possible Roe V Wade decision tomorrow.. could be a crummy end of the week for libtards.

As I've said thousands of times, I actually support legal abortion (reluctantly). But I could be persuaded to be perfectly content with a Roe/Wade overturn simply because of the collective liberal meltdown. There are few things I enjoy more than watching liberals want to kill themselves because they're so mad. Fingers crossed for a weekend of reading Twitter hilarity!

the only thing I disagree with in your post is that IMO Chauvin kept Floyd subdued on the ground, in the manner that he did, beyond what was required; and it had the appearance of being punishment for not cooperating when they tried to get him in the cruiser. Kind of an 'OK then big boy, fvck with us and we'll fvck with you' kind of thing. I have little doubt that had Chauvin thought Floyd might croak out on him, that he would have done something different. I'm going from memory because it's hard to find any video at this point, but that was my strong impression at the time.

But even if Chauvin had put his hands around Floyd's neck and choked him to death, I think erecting a memorial statue of Floyd was something only a sick and deranged societry would do.

You think a trained cop or a trained "military guy" would be at a disadvantage and would make the same excuse? Which branch of service were you a member?

This was cowardice, plain and simple. It is actually pretty rare to see such a thing from a trained person. The reason your point isn't well taken here is because you're trying to use an event where the response of one officer would be a statistical outlier compared to other similar responses in combat and policing in your quest to prove AR-15s are the problem.

I'm lookinhg forward to the mass hysteria. All the sweeter knowing that very few liberals will be able to elucidate exactly what they are supposed to be freaking out over. It's cruel, but almost impossible to not mock a freaking-out liberal.

The cops and other agency guys were trained. And regarding military - rules of engagement are a messy difficulty for a reason.

And yes, pistol vs high-capacity, high-powered rifle with huge magazine is a disadvantage. The whole reason why people love AR-15s and similar is they're an advantage over a pistol.
Which branch of service were you a member?
And none but I have family & friends who serve or served in Army, AF, Navy.

You might be right. I'm not sure if we have a big enough sample set of school shootings involving high-powered rifles to talk about outliers though.

Partly, but he also rushed inside without his radio, so ignorance comes into play in this chaos. He just had a cell-phone, so he was only aware of the guns he and his immediate cohorts went in with.

Yes they were trained, but the officer in charge failed his training. In my combat experience, because I did serve and saw combat in 2 conflicts, I can tell you for a fact the response of the Uvalde officer in charge would be an outlier in combat. Since police training is somewhat similar, I feel safe in saying it is also an outlier for a mass shooting.

Your whole pistol is a disadvantage thing would be true in a different setting, but isn't in this case. Everything else would have to be equal; it wasn't. I'll give that kid an ar15 and a barricade and well trained officers with a 9mm will move on him and achieve the advantage. But since the officers had an ar15, they wouldn't have needed to do it that way.

The word "observation" begins with a vowel, so the word "an" should precede it, not "uh." Take this multiple choice quiz to see if you've got it, genius. Which one is correct?
A - "You are an idiot."
B - "You are a idiot."

So, it turns out that the "Maryland Dad" the D's were all snuggled up to as that great victim of the big bad wolf was not only here illegally, a member of a terrorist organization, but was earning money as part of a human smuggling operation. Maybe some more senators and congress members should go visit him.

Real conservative Republicans are showing Trump for what he is. These are the kind of Republicans I have known and respected for 50 years.
You‘re not hearing from any democrats, this is the GOP. Just maybe there is hope to salvage the party after all.

Real conservative Republicans? Now, who would they be, exactly? Last time I checked the Republican party was the party of Donald Trump. Did something change last night or something?

Liz Cheney isn't even going to be re-elected as the single US representative from the state of wyoming. Liz cheney.. the daughter of Dick Cheney is not going to win reelection. I don't know who these real conservative Republicans are that you're talking about.

Anyone else having issues with this site not working properly?
I tried to check in in the wee hours as usual, and I could get onto the main page but it wouldn't let me past that onto this board, with a message that said 'check back in a couple of hours, the board is being given an update'. The alert dealio indicated I had some responses but when I clicked on it, that disappeared. It sent me to what was supposed to be my extended list but it was empty and still is, except for you.

I can't open most threads, getting an 'oops, please GFY' kind of message. Others sent me back to the first post.

The weirdest thing...I went to 'like' your message, and there was already one there from me. How do it know?

I hope everyone feels better knowing that this is what they mean when they say "Congressional Oversight":

Stupidity is being weaponized.

I wonder does anyone else sometimes wish for a return to times when a legislator would just get fed up and start whaling on some idiot with his cudgel. Imposed stupidity should not only not be encouraged as it is but instead should be strongly DIScouraged.

Nope, it's woking normally for me. It must be a case of bad karma; first, you have issues with your brain function, and then it moves to your favorite website acting erratic. Blame it on Trump!

That's freaking hilarious. The one and only one poster who isn't having problems with the site also happens to be that same poster who routinely posts as if every site he visits is always f'ed up. For him, everyday is a snafu.
lol, does it surprise that you the scrambled mess going on here seems normal to him? That makes perfect sense to me and verifies what most of us have maintained about the state of his....mind, if you can call it that.

eta...the really funny part is he's trying to blame someone else's supposedly wayward brain function on Trump. TDS has eaten to the core of his noggin and wiped out any self-awareness he may have ever possessed.

Why isn't Donald Trump intervening and stopping this insanity? Has his failure to produce a peaceful resolve in Ukraine broken his spirit? Has Netanyahu thumbing his nose at the President undermined his confidence? Is this Trump's way of admitting he is nothing more than a feckless leader?

Anyone? Anyone?
