There’s a show made by and starring ricky gervais on Netflix about an atheist planning to kill himself after his wife dies of cancer. It’s a dark comedy but has some powerful scenes dealing with after life and religion and such. And it’s not all “anti-god”. He befriends a Christian lady who he meets at the cemetery where both their loved ones are buried and they have some awesome discussions. This scene here should have won him an emmy
I love to read and study physics. It's probably short of being an actual hobby, but I think it's safe to say it's a pastime of mine. It seems probable to me that travelling at the speed of light causes space to shrink and time to stand still. I know 'about' that sort of thing, and that's where I get off. I believe it but reading a million books (I almost have ) and having known Richard Feynman personally ( I didn't ) won't get me any closer to explaining how that works because I know my built-in limitations.
I'm also fairly well familiar with the Bible and Christianity and other religions. Not being able to explain exactly how any of that works doesn't keep me from believing in a higher power, or believing that the teachings of Jesus are an excellent guide to how we should conduct ourselves.
As I pointed out previously, what any of us thinks we 'know' because we read it in a book doesn't amount to a hill of beans. What matters is what we believe, And I defy you to try to demonstrate in absolute terms that your belief is more valid than mine, or vice versa. Believe what you will, and everything else is just food for thought.

It was an awesome series and should be much more watched. Not what people would expect from Gervais I would guess.
