Drop the cash. The G from Colorado St can play off the ball.
I would say it's been a billion dollar buisness for quite some time, just with very limited player share of the profits in the mega industry. Haggerty is a player, but his mind set is feature scorer. Not sure of the fitIt's now just a business. We can't gamble with feelings... offer the best players in positions of need and take the ones who commit first.
Right now I wouldn't give 4 million. If he were an incoming prized freshman then yes. Not mad he wants his money, but 4 million is a price tag I would pay a prized freshman.
I’m the opposite, I’d pay 4 million to a proven commodity over a freshman who’s never stepped on a college court, I just don’t think Haggerty is a proven commodity.
Edit to add, we owe him something because he was surely instrumental in Memphis beating UAB, & if they don’t, we miss the tournament according to Bubba
A kid who has played a season in a reputable conference (ACC was barely such this year) as their POY gets my vote over an untested freshman any day of the week. The American Athletic Conference Player of the Year, 2nd Team All-American and third leading scorer (PPG) in D1 isn’t a proven commodity?
Very little player share?I would say it's been a billion dollar buisness for quite some time, just with very limited player share of the profits in the mega industry. Haggerty is a player, but his mind set is feature scorer. Not sure of the fit
Do you think we have $4 million left in the NIL fund?Drop the cash. The G from Colorado St can play off the ball.
We are trying to win championships.
Let Seth walk unless Powell leaves.

Only if he's better than what we got.Do you think we have $4 million left in the NIL fund?
Do you think he's worth $4 million?
Once the tournament went "when March became madness", everything was maximizing profit, not even mentioning the football golden goose, which runs everything due to the massive windfall, especially if the talent/ workers get none, just the opportunity.Very little player share?
Do you know how much 2 hours of advertising on a major network costs for 2 straight hours.
These players get that free every night to advertise their product.
While being subsidized by the school using their likeness and logos The hypocrisy of the entire thing
Please saying they get little compensation is just ridiculous
The season counts more than the tournament when it comes to exposure.Once the tournament went "when March became madness", everything was maximizing profit, not even mentioning the football golden goose, which runs everything due to the massive windfall, especially if the talent/ workers get none, just the opportunity.
Volleyball girls, swimmers , wrestlers, were traveling from Maryland to Minnesota on Tuesday nights, West Virginia to Western Iowa, for max billion dollar industry profits. Monetized every bit. A buisness, with the workers as "amateurs". Stop it, a buisness, BIG buisness, just not for the ones actually playing.
Stop it, a buisness, been that. The workers are getting a portion of the BILLIONS generated by their work. It is a BILLION dollar industry, and run as such.
Sheesh, that is a drop in the bucket for what the billion dollar industry is earning from the deals. A pittance to pay for the net profit. They did not start Iowa to Maryland conferences because it lost money, the cost was a drop in the bucket for the profits, the "student athletes" will deal with the weekday travel. The season counts more than the tournament when it comes to exposure.
All that traveling, feeding and hotel rooms and free healthcare that millions of Americans can't get.
Who pays for that?
Schools arent getting a billion dollars so please quit saying that to sensationalize the argument.Sheesh, that is a drop in the bucket for what the billion dollar industry is earning from the deals. A pittance to pay for the net profit. They did not start Iowa to Maryland conferences because it lost money, the cost was a drop in the bucket for the profits, the "student athletes" will deal with the weekday travel.
They are not being given a thing, they are bringing in the revenue by the millions, the travel, tuition, health-care is not near what is coming in from being elite. It is a buisness that was milked for profit, now they are getting their workers share in a free market that was being used as a buisness while under the guise of "amateur" athletics. You want to make it about optimizing profit, pay those doing the work a fair cut. That is millions for them as related to the billion dollar industry you created to max out profit for the "amateur play".
Respectfully disagree. The college sports division 1 industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, made up of the individual schools, making varying amounts due to their product, just like any industry. It is run as such, not a amateur enterprise. The portion the players get is proportionate to the small number that qualify for the hard to earn D1 spots, especially at the elite programs, and the amount of money the industry rakes in to be atop the pile. The elite get paid well in any competitive and lucrative industry.Schools arent getting a billion dollars so please quit saying that to sensationalize the argument.
Those Billion dollar industries are giving schools exposure when they don't have too. Yet they have created opportunities for colleges that weren't their before by doing so not knowing one players name. Nod kids feel like they can go anywhere and be seen on TV.
All these colleges existed before TV started making millions off showing sports
It's the colleges that are the product not the players.
I'm not saying dont give them stipends but saying they arent highly compensated when they are compensated at a rate higher than 90% of our society doesn't make much sense.
Only if he signs a 2year deal! ONLY!Drop the cash. The G from Colorado St can play off the ball.

4mill? If he’s such a baddass why won’t he go NBA? 🤔
