Players taking a knee during The Song

So, I need to try to do it, but you've already seen into the future to know for sure that they "would learn nothing."

Congratulations on your perspective. Maybe neither of you are suited for teaching.
You are probably right. I'll tell her she should just encourage them to follow class rules but if they don't it'll be OK too. I should probably just encourage my kids to follow safety rules in the shop as well and not demand it. Hell, who needs 10 fingers anyway?

you would have noticed that personally, I don't care if these folks sit, stand or dance during the anthem.

Really?

You definitely care about the stage it has given you to argue with everyone about the subject. So, in that sense, you care greatly about it. In fact, this:
I I don't agree with it and I don't believe the issue is anywhere near the issue that these protesters are making it out to be. I also believe that 90% of these guys don't even know what they're doing. And I believe most are just sheep following the herd in their grandstanding.

... shows me that you certainly do care about it. If you didn't care, you wouldn't be here now, going back and forth with at least 3 of us directly.

If indoctrination is the only way to go, then you can forget all about "Freedom" and "Liberty" and all of the other Red-White-And-Blue bullshit that adorns American Exceptionalism rhetoric as being valid. It's more like brown, and greenish-brown bullshit.

Defending the country would be easy to get recruits. That hasn't happened in about 75 years.
I'll overlook your obtuse disingenuousness and point out that you can't just raise an army for the national defense in a week after someone attacks us. They sort of need to be, you know, already trained, equipped, and ready to deploy at a moment's notice. But you already knew that, you just chose to pretend you didn't.

I never said anything about indoctrination. I find it awfully hard to indoctrinate a kid about a shaper. But I do know if they don't follow my safety rules they could very well be injured. I also expect them to conduct themselves in a certain way when in my shop. They get one chance and one chance only. It only takes a split second to lose an appendage, eye, etc.
Check out college campuses if you want to see some indoctrination.

We didn't get attacked 16 years ago either I guess.

I'm saying, quite simply, that needing a shitload of soldiers to "defend the country" hasn't occurred in 75 years or more. We've been blowing-up other people's homelands forever. Truth be told, our own homeland hasn't been attacked, or occupied, since 1812. American military is fighting everywhere except right here.

We're talking about completely different things. I'm not talking about wearing goggles to keep wood chips out of your eyes.

No, we had terrorists doing terrorist shit. It's been sold as "attacked" and it was working, apparently, to get soldiers into the ranks. Then, after 8 years of people dying and coming home missing half their body parts, it became more difficult to fill the ranks. Then you get the bombardment of the Pentagon, MIC and whatever else drenching the culture with more military glorification to keep going over there to fvck with these people in their homeland and wondering why they react harshly and suicidally.

You really need to watch the PBS documentary just released about Vietnam. More American butting-in and getting the indigenous people resisting and winning and dragging-it-out and costing us trillions.

All we can do is hope.
Hope is all you'll get. That guy is in for the long haul. I'm getting sick of this partisan Democratic crap and their Russian investigations and everything else.

They ran a shitty candidate, they snubbed their nose at Bernie's support (not to mention undermined his campaign) and mocked Trump and got raw-dogged and deserved losing everything they lost.

It's a message board dipshit. That's what we do here. As far as all these players that I don't know personally and have no impact on my life, I have no f*cks to give about what songs they stand for and what songs they sit for. I don't care who they pray to, who they have sex with or what they eat for dinner. They have nothing to do with me. They're not my employees. If they were, you can bet your sweet ass they'd be standing. Or they'd be walking...to the unemployment line.

Now you can respond with your trivial badgering but I've made myself clear. I don't care about NFL guys protesting because I have no relation to them. They play football and I watch it. That's as far as our relationship goes. If you really want to keep riding my jock about something, at least come at me for the way I demand my kids stand for the anthem, even when we're in our living room.

I'm glad to see you don't care about it.

Is this a message board dipshit, dipshit?

America, right or wrong!

I ride your jock? You quote me first in this thread, Darling.

You're still making this too easy.

I did call them sheep. You got me there. But what exactly has been made easy? Because the last time you said that, I pointed out that in my first poast, I stated that I personally don't care what these guys do. That is indeed true. You avoided admitting you were wrong and made some feeble attempt at a burn. So by my view, what I've made easy is you tucking your tail.

You probably shouldn't poast again in this thread after making this statement. It makes you look really dumb.

What is amazing to me is how Trump has all of these people on a string. They can't help but to respond to him.

Entertains me to no end.
And, the same for him in reverse. I think it's a bit naive and biased to believe that Trump is the Svengali in this.

@strummingram

Was December 7, 1941 after or before 1812? I know chronology is tough for you, since you don't believe in time.
Hawaii was not our "country" in 1941. Hawaii wasn't a state until 1959.

I don't believe in time because it's not real.

No country's military has set foot on US soil since 1812. that led to a war.

Well, I do recall people having an issue with Tebow praying

I bet you do. That doesn't mean it really happened though. People were on him because of the anti abortion stuff. Not many cared that he prayed. Heck, as someone said, they made him an internet sensation because of it. People praised him constantly for being such an outstanding person. People didn't care that he was outspoken as a Christian any more than they did with Kurt Warner or others. They cared that he was a below average QB who remained relevant because of his personality. Old Kap ain't that good but he is better than Tebow. However, he is the same, an average QB remaining relevant for reasons other than his play.

Maybe. But he seems to be doing just fine while those who constantly react to him seem unhinged.
Of course he seems to be doing just fine. He's an asshole who has no recognition of his own asshole-ness. He calls people anything he feels like with no remorse or empathy at all. He's never accountable for it and moves on. Some people think that is honorable and applaud him for that kind of behavior.

Not to pile on, strum, but between using past tense verbs and dates in time, and then declaring time isn't real, your message is a discrepancy wrapped in a contradiction inside an incongruity.

You're like a mouse in a maze. You see a wall pop up in front of you, and you just change directions.
If our "bases" constitute American soil, then it's no wonder we are always at war with someone.

I'm not really denying that Pearl Harbor was an attack on the US. I even said as much earlier, when I mentioned "75 years ago", earlier.
