Who do you think will we GET, regardless of who you want.

ASSUME WE HAVE 2 SCHOLARSHIPS TO GIVE

The poll lists the guys we still have offers to who haven't cut us (to my knowledge).

Listed in order of rank.

I don't really have a strong feeling about any of those guys.

It won't surprise me if we go the grad transfer route or just end up with a 5-man class. Or even a 4-man class.

I don't see any reason to "save" a scholarship for the following year, but if we were to end the class right now, we'd still be in great shape.

Went Ziaire and Walton. I think if we miss on them maybe more offers come out or we look at grad transfers (need one high level wing).

Hoping to be surprised on Bryce. Don’t think the others are realistic options.

I would love ZW and Bryce but understand that things change like Kerwin's run late summer, so I'd take him if not Bryce.

Walton is an interesting player.

High release and nice arc on his shot, reminiscent of Kenny when Kenny was shooting his best.

Doesn't look particularly fast, yet has side-steps and back-steps that get him free of HS players. The question is whether they will get him free from college defenders.

Maybe not fast, but isn't that slow, either. More smooth. Which can be deceptive. Reminds me of pre-injury Leslie on this measure.

Not chiseled, but looks like he has the kind of frame that could muscle up. Again, like Leslie.

So, anyway, that's what I think we could get with Kerwin: a Leslie/Kenny kind of player on offense. I have no idea on D. If his D is decent, he's a borderline starter in his junior or senior years. Perhaps sooner if his shooting says high with the longer 3-pt range. Obviously depending on who else is on the squad at his position.

Does anyone else on the board think Donovan kinda got a bad press funk going late summer, it was like several sports writers were downplaying him. He's be a solid 4 year guy for us.

I haven't heard a single thing about Garcia since we offered him. Probably not a good sign.

That said, I think he'd be a great get for us. Doesn't look quite ready for college, but wouldn't have to be as a freshman with all the talent we have. I could see him staying 3-4 years and being really good as a junior and senior.

Perfect player to build for the future.

OADs are good for 2 things. Helping us win right now. Helping non-OAD players develop for the future with high quality practice opponents. We have the OADs. Great time to add someone like Garcia.

We are out of contention for Garcia.

As I’ve said more than once, I’d prefer 3-4 years of Puff over one of Zaire. We need the continuity. Having to replace 2-3 OAD’s every year hasn’t worked very well for dook or UK. I don’t want to go down that road. But that’s just me. I understand a lot of people have no problem with that.

I get that. It’s a lot harder to have continuity these days. Not saying I want everyone to be OAD but I do want the best players. Also right now I think Ziaire is more likely than Puff. Roy has been on him a long time.

Dawson Garcia ship has sailed my man. Kessler took that spot.

I voted Ziare, and Walton.

I saw an interview of Caleb Love, who has played against all our main targets in EYBL, and he says Ziaire is the most likely to pop for UNC. That was before RJ committed. Also, I know how much Ziaire loves him some Tar Heels, and Roy.

I just think our backcourt is too crowded at this point for Bryce to commit here, but not too much so that Walton would commit.

If Bryce, and Ziaire were to both commit...we would have one of the best classes ever assembled.

I agree on both counts. Just as I loved JR for the continuity he brings at PG, so too I would love the continuity at SF Puff would bring. Unfortunately, I don’t feel it’s going to happen.

Arch, as you well know, I am and have been on the Puff to UNC bandwagon, not sure it will happen but that is the kid I want more than any left on our board. Cam says, Puff is a better shooter at the same age than he was and Puff has not been hurt as Cam was prior to college. I see Puff as a better jump shooter than ZW and I really value jump shooting from a long wing.

My response to your signature is that if the sky ever does fall, no one will believe it because you guys have been crying wolf for so long.

Archer, ladies and gentlemen. Claims to have you on ignore then responds to nearly everything you say. I tell you, the best part about having premium is not having to deal with the peanut gallery bunch's BS on a daily basis anymore.

So do I David. I used to be certain that he was Chapel Hill bound. I don’t feel that way these days. Boy do I wish the NCAA would light Miller up.

Zaire Williams, disclaimer, I hear very little on this kid or where he will end up that seems solid enough for me to buy. On the 1 hand, in addition to his official visit to us he did un-official to us, means something when that un-official visit was cross country. Yes, I know, he seemed to really enjoy himself at Late Night, yes I know Caleb says the kid may be our next commit. Yeah, I get all those things but all that circumstantial evidence why the delay in an announcement? Our greatest area of need at this point, the wing, stocked with big time players in his class already and yet I do not hear the kid is about to hold a PC and tell the world where he is going?

A cali kid, distance just has to be a factor, he is flirting with a couple cali programs, that rarely works out well for us and even when it did initially, we saw the Wears and Drew skip out in the middle of the night? Not tagging the kid as that, just saying, Cali has not been great for us under Roy. While Roy has offered several cali kids, it has been hard to even get them to visit, at least Zaire did that but it sure does not feel to me like we are about to get great news about a commitment from him. I personally have never felt excited that we would, I honestly think our shot at Puff is stronger but Roy has work to do there because it seems now that Puff may just be waiting to see what the NCAA does with Miller, as if the assume that Ziare is going to be a tar Heel has pushed Puff further from us, in the end it is beginning to feel like we could whiff on booth wing targets, leaving Leaky as our only real wing, could be a problem.

If we didn't already have 2 or 3 OADs in our 2020 class, I might disagree. But that's enough OADs. By the time some of these 4-stars have a year or 2 under their belts, they could be more valuable than an OAD.

This is the argument I make pretty much every year about someone.

I wish my memory were good enough to tell if people like this - supposedly pro-UNC, and we have a starter slot for them, yet they delay - end up at UNC or don't. If I had to guess, I'd guess they don't. That's part of the reason I don't really want to hold onto a scholarship if someone else we like wants to commit, even though Ziaire would be better.

Add to that that he's a CA kid. Most of our transfers seem to come from there - Alex, Drew, the Wears. We've had some good ones from the left coast, too, so I don't know if that really matters.

Very True WWJD. Alex’s transfer was very different as I am sure you remember. But he transferred none the less

Yeah, I would NEVER lump Alec in with Drew or the Wears but fact is he did transfer. Out side of Scott and maybe Q, who else have we had from cali that really helped us?
