Recruitng class of 2016

KJ Sails is waiting til signing day, but we're in his top few. How does it work if we have two different CB's waiting til signing day, but only room for one? Do the coaches just tell each guy that it is "first come, first accepted"?

Cool but embarrassing was the Bowl Game vs RU where I felt the team just quit and gave up...They never quit and fought till the end vs BU...Make no mistake it could have been real bad vs BU...

But I understand your point...
agree.
given our recent history the baylor game was closer to a great victory than an embarrassing effort.

It was embarrassing, not from an effort standpoint, but from a team construction (recruiting) standpoint. We are still struggling to recover from the final year or two of the Butch Davis regime and the one year of Withers where we didn't bring in any DLmen of note. It is no mystery why we're not good at DL.

Fedora's staff has tried valiantly every year to address that position group but just hasn't been able to snag any elite talents except for Dalton (Tuttle, Settle, Roseboro, Street, et al)

Jayvaughn Myers brother of Nate Craig-Myers is also announcing a final 2 of Auburn and UNC. Jayvaughn has previously not been mentioning UNC and he has not visited since last summer but Brewer has recently visited him. He is a high 3* CB and this may be the reason that a couple of DB's who seemed ready to commit have kind of fallen out of the picture. He said he is going with the flow. I feel we offer the best chance of playing time and a much better QB situation for Nate to excel. I've mentioned before the Mom wasn't terribly impressed by Auburn and fears Malzahn's seat could get hot. Auburn QB situation was a cluster fornication last year. Everybody stay tuned. Both will announce on signing day as will Cater.

^Which DB's kinda fell out of the pic? You mean like Coney Durr? The only other guy I recall would be Troy Pride, but he went to Notre. Or Christopher McWillams?

Coney Durr visiting VT and Daniel Thomas' last crystal ball was for Minn. IC has Dominique Ross , Pierre and Banks listed as soft verbals. Chizk and Fedora were meeting with Sails , I am assuming to nail him down. Christopher McWilliams also visited but never really heard much from it.

Fedora and Chizik also had an in-home with Daniel Thomas a couple days ago.

It is clear they are tall but it is also hard to tell how many are targeted for safety or nickel as opposed to corner. Say what you want about size, but 5'11 Donnie Miles and 5'11 MJ Stewart are probably the two best defenders on the team, and I'm guessing the coaches wouldn't trade those two for anybody.
Valid points on where they will get positioned. That is a tall group of young men. The key to CB is hip rotation, that should(jmo) be what the coaches evaluate and place the kids .

Keith Simms off the board....He is going West to be a Duck....
Yeah..he had been trending toward the Quacks. It really makes me wonder if East Coast guys will be happy out there. Javontay Smith committed to ECU. I guess we will have to wait to NSD for more commits.

Banks , Pierre and D. Ross are listed as soft verbals and VT is trying to flip Fox. I cannot imagine why he would be interested in VT it seems we can offer more playing time.

Already seeing multiple crystal ball flips for Korey Banks to SoCar all I can tell him is good luck finding someone to throw him the ball.

Fox is solid, but as expected Banks is heading elsewhere.
you really feel Fox is solid? I'll take him over Banks any day. We already have 2 WR's in this class and Groves is ranked higher than Banks. Banks claimed an offer from Bama but I don't believe it was committable or either it was a gray shirt. Bama just had a long time 3* LB decommit cause they told him he would have to go gray shirt. bama is like 80% 4 and 5 stars.

I think a lot of the concern over Fox is misplaced and feel like the coaches would agree. We might lose one more from this class, but it won't come as a surprise. Overall, I expect this to be a somewhat uneventful signing day, which is fine with me. This is a solid group.

ETA: I don't know where Alabama stands with Banks. I believe he was being targeted as a CB. South Carolina seems like the more likely scenario, but that's just speculation on my part.

He's definitely going to SCar. Alabama was recruiting him as insurance in case they lost a WR.

We have fallen to the #35 class per 247 behind Pitt , dook and SoCar hoping for some NSD surprises , good ones that is,

Bama is already looking at too many commits if everything falls their way. I think Banks offer was a contingent one. I also think if things fall our way we could have too many commits and it was easy to cut ties with Banks based on his sniffing around with other teams and Groves made him an unnecessary commit.

Robert Washington is now trending towards Charlotte and his rating has dropped to a mid level 3*.

I think we address our needs. I'm confident we get one and there's a good chance we end up with the second. So, looking for two more commitments.

We really wanted Banks. Made a last ditch effort to hold onto him, but he was determined to go in a different direction. I don't believe we'll end up going over. There's a good chance at least one doesn't sign.

247 has jacked up class ranking systems then.....SCar's class is awful.

Lol. I know alot of jacked up ratings are baked into their composite.

Had an FSU buddy asking me about him this morning. I really don't think this staff ever seriously went after AR for a flip.....JMO. No insider info.

I know he enjoyed his visit, but feel like FSU did prioritize him a little more. He was more interested in Alabama, but wasn't at the top of their board from what I understand. He's more of a track star than a big power back.

Still not nearly as confident as you with respect to Fox's commitment status.

The 247 rankings seem to look only at quality, discards quantity. In rivals, sort entirely by avg and we drop to 25th. I think this explains the discrepancy. Scout, 247, espn have us more in the low 30's in terms of average quality because those three don't see many 4*s on the list.

247's ratings are a lot easier to understand they range from the 70's to 100 where as Rivals goes 5.4 to 6.1. I got 70-100 grades in school , but I never got and 5.4 thru 6.1's. It creates a lot more levels of 3 and 4 stars.
