Republican Debate

Some of you make me laugh at how you think you know how old the earth is and furthermore how mortal man could harm it. Funny stuff.

Carbon dating wrapped that one up a long time ago. Science is pretty awesome, you should stop ignoring it.

You do realize the "science" is by flawed men with an agenda don't you? I will take my chances on Almighty God and nothing you say will change that.

I mean when you believe something that has been totally disproven by science, it crosses the line from faith to ignorance. It isn't about what the dems would do to him, he disqualifies himself.

Well President Obama was also a Senator, and taught Constitutional Law at Harvard for quite awhile. Much better qualifications than being gifted at brain surgery.
I understand he taught constitutional law and me thinks he needs to go back and brush up on that document. He seems to have forgotten what it says.

I was simply saying that relatively speaking, he was more qualified than Dr. Carson. He also doesn't believe the Earth is 6000 years old so he clearly has better judgement as well.

Fundamentalism is scary stuff...

You realize your Bible was written by flawed men with an agenda as well don't you? Quite the paradox. But I'm sure you don't think about that much.

No, he doesn't. But the hardcore GOP base would love it. This is why the GOP is diminishing as a viable alternative, politically. They're becoming more and more of a religious cult. The worst thing that EVER happened to the Republican Party began in 1980 when they allowed the religious fundamentalists into the tent.

And right on cue their chief representative Tazki shows up... lolol

Don't expect you to understand the inspired word uncboy and to compare Obama teaching classes to trumping being a brain surgeon certainly demonstrates your bias.

So "relatively speaking" Dr. Carson knows much more about how the human brain works and how people process information and react to information so he could possibly be much better at dealing with people than Obama. Hell the constitution is only a little over 200 years old and Obama doesn't know what it is about.

Lol so science is flawed because it's man made, but codified religious doctrine, which is also man made, is infallible. Yikes dude...

Look I get it, you dont like President Obama. That's perfectly fine with me. But the guy was a Constitutional Law professor at HARVARD for a decade. That means some people who know the Constitution much better than you or I do, considered him to be adequately knowledgeable to teach it, at arguably the most prestigious university in the entire world. Insulting his knowledge of the Constitution, and insinuating yours is better, is the equivalent of me arguing that Dr. Carson doesn't know jack about the brain, and I could do a better job with a scalpel.

He's a brain surgeon, not a psychologist. Brain surgeons deal with the brain, in its biological form. Sure, they know how that relates to the cognitive functions of the brain, but that is far from his specialty. Just because he can operate on a brain, does not mean that he can "deal with people." Many great doctors and surgeons have been very terrible with people. Besides, the president's job isn't to "deal with people." He is the chief executive charged with making extremely important decisions that directly impact the prosperity of our nation. Anyone who publicly states they believe the Earth is 6000 years old has clearly demonstrated they are not qualified for such a responsibility

Well said. He spits in the face of it every chance he gets. The guy is as anti American as it gets.

There's nothing even remotely "anti-American" about him. Let me guess, he's also a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, and helped plan 9/11 too?

This is getting old. If the best you can do is a cheap ad hominem attack then obviously those "life experiences" you endlessly rail about haven't done you much good.

I'm simply saying that I don't trust the opinion of a guy that hasn't even finished school and plays Whitesnake cover songs at the local bar on Friday nights. I don't think it's unreasonable to question your credentials when you're being critical of people that are infinitely more accomplished than you. In other words, why the hell would anyone pay attention to anything you say? What credibility do you have? You're 5 years removed from having mommy pack your lunchbox.. Have you built a life for yourself or dealt with the issues that arise from that? Would you put any stock in the opinion of a 10 year old when debating best practices for driving a car? I didn't think so.

In short, you must be this tall (raises hand to over 5 feet) to ride this ride.

Sounds like you've got your hand held above your own head. Put your dentures back in and come up with a legitimate counter argument. I'm done responding to the ad hominem attacks.

Watch your tone or I'll ground you for a month. That means you will not ride your bike out of the neighborhood and you won't get a treat after dinner. And you're going to bed early too. Any more lip and I'll paddle your little bottom.

Science, in and of itself IS flawed. Take Einstein's Theory of Relativity. Complete theorem that cannot be proven or disproven. Science is evidence based, yes, but it is NOT completely correct 100% of the time. Every scientific fact started as a theory. "Facts" aren't 100% infallible.

Ever read the 2nd amendment specifically? How about the entire constitution that equally delves power to all branches. Obama has superseded his limit of power of numerous occasions.

Yeah I've read it. Did Obama already come for your guns or are you just buying into the Faux news BS?... The second amendment doesn't give you the right to buy a gun without a reasonable background check...

As opposed to religion which is not based on factual evidence whatsoever.

This is a cop out. If uncboy is not worthy of engaging in discussion, then just put him on ignore and be done with it. But don't play that card in the middle of a debate. It's a cheap shot and makes it seem like you have nothing of substance to offer. You do the same thing to me about me being a lawyer. It's nothing more than a means of trying to make yourself feel superior instead of actually listening to what someone is saying.

Never said it did. When the psychopath in South Carolina gunned down the church goers, the first topic of conversation was gun control, as opposed to beefing up mental health treatment. Same thing when the two reporters were gunned down at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. I never said anything about background checks. I'm actually a staunch proponent for thorough and precise background checks on ALL firearms purchases.

I'm not talking about religion. My post specifically talked about science and its flawed nature.

My original post was a direct response to Tazki claiming that science is fallible because its man made, while religion which is also man made is infallible. Scientific theories being dis-proven isn't an indictment of science though, its just part of the scientific process.

Then you shouldn't have a problem with President Obama, considering those are the exact things he is advocating for. I live in South Carolina. I can buy a gun without any kind of permit whatsoever. I can buy a gun from a private sale, without any form of a background check. So obviously gun control is part of the issue. Of course we also need to beef up our healthcare for those suffering from mental disorders, the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Probably. She certainly wouldn't be my first choice, and I don't trust her any farther than I can throw her. But at the end of the day, her policy positions align more closely to mine than just about any Republican's are likely to. Plus the potential appointment of a Supreme Court justice can't be ignored. Of the GOP candidates, Rubio is probably the only one with any shot that I would be likely to seriously consider, but I still think his views are probably too far from mine to ultimately get my vote.
so your policy positions are more freebies for everybody??

Trump has a super PAC and takes big money?
Clinton was forced to balance the budget by Newt and the Republicans. Clinton is the kind that would see a protest against him and get out and lead it and claim it was a parade in his honor.

Probably the most important factor would be economic stability for the middle class. Clinton also balanced the budget and erased the deficit during his administration. No mean feat, especially considering at the time of his inauguration he was faced with the largest deficit in American history. So we were doing pretty well until Bush came along and crashed our economy with his deregulation policies, while at the same time blowing multiple trillions of dollars on a war in Iraq that further destabilized the region.

I get it though. Most of the people on this board hold an extreme partisan bias. So they use words like "evil" or "traitor" a bit too liberally with anyone who is on the other side of the fence.

But at the end of the day, every single one of these candidates have been bought off by special interest groups and large private donors. They don't care what any of us think. At all. Except for the one guy who refused to have a super PAC and take big money. Bernie Sanders.
So you are saying the deficit went to "0" so how about the national debt? You are so uninformed it is just pathetic? The monstrous debt has never been erased in any form or fashion , balancing the budget for a few years only slows down the debt. It will take many , many ,many budget surpluses to put any dent in the spiraling debt cycle we are in. I am no Bush fan (just a big govt. Republican) but Odumbo has doubled the debt with absolutely no return on that investment. Billions and Billions wasted on green energy that is just not viable basically just lining the pockets of his supporters. .

I never said he erased the debt. The deficit and the national debt are two different things...

It isn't possible to erase the debt so long as we keep the Fed around.

I'll agree to that if you agree that yours is cutting benefits for the poor to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
The Democrat party is the biggest supporter of billionaires that there has ever been . Billionaires like Gates , Soros , Buffet and many others are big supporters because they have achieved the ultimate and don't want anybody else to get there. Benefits for the Poor??? I get so sick and tired of hearing about the poor , the poor ,the poor could start by helping themselves and not always waiting for more hand outs. Do you know why when you go to a park and see signs that say "don't feed the animals" do you know why? It's because if you do they will expect it and won't fend for themselves and the human animal is the same in an even worse way. "Tax cuts for billionaires" are you really naive enough to believe that?? The tax cuts will only effect guys like me trying to make it to the next rung , the billionaires will always find a way around the system and the people making 150k to 350k will be the ones bearing the burden. Making 150 to 350k is hardly a billionaire and most of us can't set up our own "Clinton family initiative" and escape taxes. Wake the "F" up.

Lol Soros and Buffett are both advocates for higher taxes on themselves... Pretty sure Gates is also for a progressive tax code. That was downright silly.
