I have always heard that it was 2 years. I remember many years ago UNC had a lineman who's twin brother was at moo and he transferred to moo and didn't sit out 2 years. Maybe the rule changed or maybe the school can waive it. Anybody remember who that lineman was? It was long ago.
Ok gotcha, I was trying to google the rule, and it looks like it's at the conference's discretion. It can either be two years, a year but you lose that year of eligibility as well, or you lose your scholarship, based on the info that I saw. But yeah, looks like 2 years is the most common. So Bolden would be a senior in school but a sophomore in eligibility if he were to move down 15-501. That would be interesting, don't know if he would want to wait that long though.

ETA: I in no way actually believe he would transfer to us, just an interesting hypothetical

RW would NEVER take a dook transfer, but I would love if he did.
He would make guys like Bolden 1st round draft picks, and kill dook's recruiting from that point forward.

Of course Roy is too respectful to do that, but if it was me I would destroy that phony prick in a heart beat.
Why wouldn't he take a Duke transfer - especially if it's someone he had recruited and had a good relationship with? I've seen him warmly interact with a number of Duke players that I know he recruited. If something happened and they decided they had made a mistake, why wouldn't he take them?

Two years would be a deal killer. Stupid anti-player rule. Shameful. One year is bad enough.

Will never be in intra-ACC transfer ever. The fact he let Suliamon transfer to Maryland was actually surprising.

Was Syracuse not in the league yet when Gbinije (sp?) transferred there from Duke?

Yeah was gonna say he let gbinijie go to cuse. I'm pretty sure they were in the league though it could've possibly been the year prior to them joining.

Obi Wan Nobody is the latest player that K-Rat has taken advantage of.
