Son of Zorn

I used "walls" on purpose because my college roommate from senior year would say "balls to the walls" and I thought it was really stupid, particularly because he would say it in situations that didn't fit. Like I would say "see you later," and he would say "balls to the walls." I remember he said "walls" because I was thinking of a dude in a corner trying to reach two walls at once.

Pretty sure the phrase comes from early fighter aircraft where you'd push the throttle as far forward as it would go (to the wall) and the throttle had a ball on top, similar to old shifters in cars, thus balls to the wall.

Additionally, that song is badass but the video is suuuuuper homo, NTTAWWT

I did end up watching it last night. I didn't think it was terrible but it was far from great. My big problem was it spent too much time with exposition and not enough punchlines. The show is basically He-man in the suburbs, so spend more time on jokes and not telling us it's He-man in the suburbs. There were a few things I liked, such as how the animation met real life (Zorn slicing the mailbox for instance), and Tim Meadows is a very solid straight man. I'm not ready to write it off just yet (I'll probably watch another 2 episodes or so) but it's got a ways to go.

I just don't get why you'd get Sudeikis and then make him just a voice-over. To me, he's visually funny just as much as verbally funny. Live-action blended with animation is so 1990s.

Yeah, I like Sudeikis a lot, which is part of the reason I was willing to give this show a chance. I actually met him once at UNC, he was doing a show with some SNL writers (who actually have all become cast members since) at the Union and because I was on the CUAB Comedy Committee (which is the committee that brought him there) we got to hang out. That whole SNL crew partied hard, but Sudeikis in particular. He was awesome though, super nice and hilarious.
