Is college football as fun to watch as it used to be? I'm only asking because there is a huge gap between the truly elite teams (Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Georgia) and everyone else, and it only seems to get bigger each year. I would bet that at the least 2-3 of these teams will be in the playoff again next year. I still love college football, but it would nice to see a little more parity.

That still leaves about 125 teams to watch with relative parity. So yes, still fun. There's nothing like the pageantry and emotion of college football. Certainly the pro game can't touch this.

its still good, but not as good as it once was in terms of overall parity at the top and excitement

My take is that in general, an individual college game can be much more exciting. As JH81 said, the emotion and pageantry, excitement is better than an nfl game.

However, as a whole, I prefer the NFL in that from one season to the next there is always hope that your team can make the playoffs if a few breaks go your way. Whereas in college, those same 5-6 teams rule the playoffs and I’m about sick of Bama v Clemson.

Other programs needs to step up to close the gap. Texas is on the rise. Southern Cal could be too if they ever hire a good head coach.
