Carl Tucker has been super impressive. Every time I see him do anything - special teams, routes, catching, he looks like he's doing a fine job for a newbie.

I'd guess he's giving Fritts a run for his money for the starting position.

I kinda feel Fritts might be a little more fluid as a receiver than Tucker - Fritts looks longer/taller. Not sure who is smarter or tougher as a blocker, but I'm feeling pretty good at TE for the future if people stay healthy.

I could see some interesting wrinkles with two TE sets in the future.

The thing about Tucker that still rings with me is that several schools recruited him primarily for Defense, as DE or LB or both. That tells me he is versatile, and that our weaknesses on D could be helped if he were to shaft sides.

I have too much Dooley in me not to always think of making the UNC D deeper and tougher, hopefully to dominate.

Watching Tucker sprint during special teams returns, he doesn't look fast enough to play LB, but he obviously bulked up a bunch to 240, but maybe he'd be an effective DE. Thank god he's TE at present though since Fritts is hurt. He is doing the type of blocking that WRs and Logan cannot do.
