We definitely made the wrong call turning down the NIT invite regardless of how the actual tournament plays itself out.
The NBA playoffs are the championship tournament of the NBA. Of course they played to give their team the opportunity to win the NBA Championship.
The NIT is a competition to be called the 69th best college basketball team. In no way is it comparable to a real championship.
There will be 67 teams lose in the NCAA tournament why do they even play it? Why do the 16 seeds even show up, they are 1 for 6387?
if we don't get rid of Hubert, we will really start to care about the NIT...every year.
Last year when he was winning in the tournament it was because he was learning to be a good coach, this year when he sucks its because he needs better players. Can't have that cake and eat it too!

our guys had no interest in playing dook on senior day or the first round of their conference tournament ... there is ZERO chance they would have shown up for a NIT game against Hofstra.
Here another example there was a thread a couple of months back about hypothetical coaches for UNC, and I said Jay Wright. Now I'm not saying its right or wrong but he made a stupid comment and TRIED to insult me, so I ask him what would your choice be and why not Jay Wright? He continued to insult and refuse to discuss. He's a clown and it is very obvious that he isn't in charge of anything in his life, and this is the only place that he gets the illusion that he is somewhat somebody, and might be important.
BTW he did say he thought Platek should start at PG over Coby White!
My personal favorite was a few weeks back when he said "Generally, I can watch a kid go up and down the floor 2 or 3 times and tell if he's a PG or not. And usually not many more times to tell if he's any good."
But yet the professional basketball coaches miss everyday on who is a PG and who isn't!

He is laughed off pretty much by everyone else. He has a small fan club here though because they think his post game analysis stuff is actually good analysis.

I disagree with gary, actually I disagree with him a lot but gary is at least willing to give his opinion and most times does a good job of explaining why he has the opinion he does, I like when folks are willing to say what they believe and why. I may disagree with gary but I see no reason to insult the man, I may not like the negative tone he does at times to quickly but I as well know if you don't push his buttons he will talk to you civilly and does bring some very solid about the game views that I as well as many here do appreciate. So maybe try talking to gary, rather than looking for ways to throw shade at him, you may find him a better guy than you thought.
