We have been bad in the road all year but good at neutral sites. Even on the trip to Maui we kind of stunk against Hawaii and then rolled once it went neutral. No idea why. Have to get more from Berry as a leader though. If he is terrible we almost always lose.
I love Joel Berry, just as much as any other guy on this team. We do REALLY need him to be a leader of this team. We are screwed any time he has a bad game. Surely this was his worst. I don't think it will be a trend for him - I think it will be something to motivate him.
Outside of Jackson, I don't think anyone played well today. Maybe you could say Britt and 7th did OK, but each of them did things via fouls and / or TO's which ARE characteristic of them, to provide Miami about 8 points. Again - they are what they are. But if Berry plays even a C level game, and if we get anything out of the 2 (Kenny Williams), we'd have been there at the end. This Miami team is utterly beatable.
Not sure why they were going for the dunks late in the game. Miffed me a bit. I guess if we hadn't pressed, they wouldn't have tried to score. But they had ample opportunities to pull it back out and run clock.
A bad characteristic is for a team to play down to its opponent. And granted, they only had a day to prepare. But that shouldn't be an excuse for matador / lost / zero help defense, horrific shooting, and flat footed no effort rebounding.
Regarding scheduling, who works out a Thurs - Sat - Tues schedule? I know they will have to play on consecutive days come tourney time again. But 3 games in 6 days seems like a scheduling error.
