edit - apparently no waiver just yet but he says he's coming, so... lemme go pop some popcorn...Don't play with my emotions!
Boy I hope this is true!
Looks like he committed to unc..
Excellent.Looks like he committed to unc..
Cam's father:
His father, Gilbert Johnson, explained: "He didn't (get a waiver) yet but per the NCAA and ACC, they says it's illegal to take away a year from him because he's a graduate transfer. It says he can go or not."

I think Pitt loses the fight....
Also, based on last year, he likes playing in the Smith Center. Hope that trend continues![]()
Very nice piece indeed.Huge pickup! Really excited to see him play in Carolina Blue. Great player and seems like a great representative for the university. If he and/or Theo can share minutes with Luke at the 4, I really like the potential of our offense. The remaining questions for our team would just be rim protection and if we can come anywhere close to the beastly rebounding of last year. Whichever of the 3 freshman bigs can defend and rebound should play, pretty much regardless of their expected offensive contribution.
At the very worst, Cam was willing to sit out a year to play 2 here at UNC. With UNC's legal help, I hope he is successful in his battle with Pitt U. and is eligible for this upcoming season . .
i have no problem with undergrad transfers sitting out a year to discourage schools from raiding and poaching other programs. but after a kid has graduated -- that's different. we should not be punishing kids for graduating by limiting their post-grad options.I really hope the whole transfer culture gets major prime time attention..what's right is right!..these young athletes never get this precious time again...
Goodman's piece. Gotta be killing him...

Billy, where are you getting that Cam is willing to sit out a year? I may have missed something.
Everything I have read indicates he is not willing to sit out a year, and only has 2 years of eligibility left regardless of where he transfers. The 5 years to play 4 rule. The next 2 years will be Cam's year 4 and year 5 and it's over then.
The fact that he's transferring here without being fully released means he understands there is a possibility he has to sit out a year.
