Roll call: who all watches? I know there's several of you on here. I'm BEYOND pumped. I even bought my roommate and myself drinking horns like they use in the show.

Where do y'all think the storyline progresses this season? How long does Floki last? How much longer will Ragnar last? What will happen with Rollo and Paris? So many questions. By the way, fun fact that I didn't know until recently -- Rollo is the great-great-great grandfather of William the Conqueror.

My guess is Floki will be gone by the end of the season. Like you, I love the series.

Floki and Ragnar will be both be gone by season's end IMO.

If you know how Ragnar actually died (at least as is told in lore) then the fact that there's snakes slithering all over the floor in the promo commercials for the new season is very, very significant........*hint* *hint*

RIVALS HAS A SPOILER FUNCTION NOW YOU JERK

But seriously, I'm pretty pumped for it to come back on the air. Not "drinking out of a Viking horn" pumped, but pretty excited.

[ETA] I'm hoping Rollo gets offed this season. The one plot point that has grown a little stale is his wishy-washy betrayals of his brother. The writers have gone to the well one too many times with that IMO.

Technically that's not really a spoiler because I have no idea if they're actually going to write the show that way (i.e. they're doing their own thing when it comes specifically to Ragnar's character. The producers and writers realize they hit a grand slam with their casting of Travis Fimmel for the role so they've just rolled with it.)

Gonna need you to up your level of pumped-up-age. *raises horn*

Yeah, I'm thinking Ragnar's first wife (she is sooo hot) and their son will make it until the end of the series.

Lagertha is indeed extremely hot.

As for Bjorn...
The legend of Ragnar Lothbrok is much more about his sons and how after Ragnar's death, his many sons went out and wreaked havoc on most of Britain and many parts of continental Europe. So I'd expect that by the end of this season, they'll at least start to set up those storylines. Obviously Bjorn is a major character, but they've yet to dive in developing Ragnar's other sons (who obviously need to age a few more years first)

This week has been beyond hectic and I'm actually at the hospital right now with my mom, who had (successful) surgery this morning. Seriously, thank you.

Okay, that's all the sincerity I can handle for one post.
That's good news. Tell her your friends are wishing her a speedy recovery.

Great episode last night! Really set up a ton of storylines, including a historically significant one for Bjorn (the scene with the map). The character of Rollo fascinates me. You never know what decision he's going to make or what side he's going to take. I'm starting to come around on Kalph (sp?) too. I'm glad the dude with the handlebar moustache got taken down (but ouch...)

Simple rule for that show: if you spend more than 1 minute on camera, you must die a grisly death.

Thanks, man. She's doing well and should go home today. If there's one benefit of spending 14 hours at the hospital yesterday, it's hot nurses.

As the Georgia Southern folks say... GATA!!!

So we're three episodes in and this thread hasn't gotten a bump. Where's everybody at?

I gotta be honest. I've been a little disappointed so far. Seemed like the first episode was setting the stage for all sorts of story lines but very, very little has happened so far. Am I wrong?

I hear ya. But there has been a few doings. Floki's daughter bit the dust, so there's something. And Rollo putting down his own people like that? Cold! Lagatha also has a few problems herself. Last episode was a bit slow so I expect, with all the foreshadow and setup, we are going to see a particularly violent next episode.

Spoilers below!!!

Keep in mind this season has double the episodes as the past two seasons, so the pace is bound to be a bit slower. I'm very excited for the Bjorn vs the berserker showdown.

Also, in the preview scenes for the next episodes, they showed King Aelle so he's coming back into the fold. This is significant if you know the legend of Ragnar Lothbrok. Also, the scene in the first episode of this season where Bjorn is looking at a map of Europe (with an exaggerated version of Italy on it) is very significant. It goes along with the Seer's prediction last season or the one before where he said Bjorn will (I'm paraphrasing) "sail all throughout the great sea that has no tides." Aka the Mediterranean.

My dear wife deleted last week's episode thinking I had already watched it. I'm hoping I can record a re-run of it this week.

Not to brag but what the hell why not, my wife bears a striking resemblance to
Lagertha. She did her hair in one of those viking women hairdos and people went crazy every where we went. Unfortunately i look nothing like ragnar. Maybe his drunk uncle

I'm fascinated to see how the Rollo / Paris situation ultimately pans out. I feel like there's some intense battles on the horizon.

Also, I thought that the whole scene with Aethulwolf (sp) and his men storming that fort and saving Kwenthrith was a pretty bad@ss fight scene.

If that is in fact your wife she is a very pretty lady.
Haha, no. It was a sarcastic response to THN's request that heelmanwilm post a picture of his wife, who looks like Lagertha. That's the actual woman who plays Lagertha. And yeah, she would be waaaaaaaaaaay outkicking my coverage. Like, kicking it out of the stadium.
