^^ unfortunately, "dragging it along" is a commonality of most shows once they realized they've gained enough popularity that they'll be around as long as they want. You see it with The Walking Dead, for example.

I'll begrudgingly admit the pacing of this half season was very weird. So little plot advancement and then BAM,

Honestly, that seemed like nothing but a tactic to advance the story to a point where Ragnar's other sons were old enough to be warriors so they could be incorporated as such into future episodes.

Aslaug has turned out to be a real bitch. She always seemed like quite the opportunist, though.
