What classic movie have you never seen?

What does it even mean?

I think the Philistines are what would commonly be known as Palestinians today. They're mentioned in the Old Testament. Generally, I see it used to insult someone that is uncultured. It was obviously a joke in this context, as I don't think anyone who doesn't like The Empire strikes back, as much as I do, is uncultured.

So Palestinians have no culture? That's pretty close-minded brah.

Maybe another thread might be what Movie(s) should have been on that top 100 list . .

It appears void of any John Wayne movie.

Good. John Wayne is THE MOST overrated actor in history. He played virtually every role the same way. I've never understood the mass appeal of that guy.

I'm not a big fan either, but he was before my time. I thought Jeff Bridges played a much better Rooster Cogburn.
He definitely did. And, Jeff Bridges can play completely different characters. John Wayne was the exact same in every movie. The first movie I ever saw John Wayne was The Green Berets. It was on TBS, I think. Then I saw True Grit later... and he was the same persona. He's like Russell Brand. He plays himself in every film.

The one thing John Wayne did that I loved was this:

Drunk and talking to cadets! The 2:43 mark makes me bust-out laughing every time, still. And, his cadence and dialogue sounds exactly like his film personas!

The Comancheros has always been a favorite of mine. Have watched John Wayne films since I was a toddler.

Agreed. The reason I made that comment is that there was a ton of folks that liked the JW movies back in the day, and those were the days that westerns ruled,

1969 & '82 were the only years that had 4 all-timers that had 4 winners. I guess I'm old school in that I love and grew up on westerns, both movies and TV series.

Great times.

I like westerns, but I'm more of a Clint Eastwood fan.

Clint Eastwood wasn't the most versatile actor, but his films were better... to me. Eastwood did a very underrated film in the 80's called Honky Tonk Man, with his son, Kyle. GREAT movie!

Not all actors have the same range of diversity, we all know that and don't expect them to be equal. Jeff Bridges is an example of a diverse actor. Kurt Russell is diverse, to me. Johnny Depp is an example of extreme diversity. Some good, some bad, but, Depp plays lots of different characters and doesn't have the same basic, deadpan persona.

Al Pacino is diverse. DeNiro is diverse. DeNiro can't really do comedy, though.

There's only 1 CE movie in that top 100 . . and it's one of the greatest westerns of all-time IMO.

The Good, the bad & the ugly should be a top 100 movie IMHO.
You ever notice the dialogue doesn't always sync-up with the mouth movements? WTF is that?

I hate you both.
Well... I can't help it that John Wayne's "act" is the same in every film he ever made. It's perfectly okay to like his films. Many, many people love them. I even like some of the films! I'm just stating that, as an actor, John Wayne was the same in every film. He's like a musician who knows one song.

Wait you’ve never seen Dirty Grandpa?!?!?
I don't think DeNiro is a good comedy actor. He's okay... but, it's not his strong suit. Like, in the Meet The Parents series. His "funny" parts are from a serious angle. DeNiro is still an amazing actor.

I haven't seen Dirty Grandpa, no. I'll have to check it out.

Oh, another gifted, diverse actor was Robin Williams.

Bridges is probably my favorite actor of all time.

I was kinda joking. He wasn’t that great. But I love cheesy comedies. So I did like that movie.

Robin Williams is great. And greatly missed in my opinion.

The supporting cast in that movie were predominately speaking in their native languages (Italian and Spanish), so Leone had the movie over-dubbed after shooting. The three leads look reasonable, but some of the others are pretty bad.
