A few years ago, Matta was raking in recruits like crazy. Now they suck to the highest of sucktivity. Didnt even make the NIT this year. I think his butt is on the hot seat. Recruits came to realize Matta sucks as a coach.
He had a really good recruiting class last year, then 4 out of 5 of them transferred after their freshman season. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the hot seat.
They realized they were at Ohio state. Why did they transfer?
A recruit and his parents fell for some negative recruiting recently from another school and called up Matta and had the following conversation:
Parent: "Listen coach, we're going to have to delay our commitment to Ohio State."
Matta: "That's totally fine. Can I ask why?"
Parent: "Well, it's health reasons."
Matta: "Oh wow, what's going on?"
Parent: "...no. It's your health reasons."
Matta: "What's wrong with me?"
Parent: "Well we were told you were dying..."
True story. Any coach that negatively recruits and says another coach is "dying" has a whole mess of bad karma in store down the road.
who knows really, Matta said in an interview that he told them at some point in the season that he was going to start coaching basketball the way he wanted to and that some of them were going to transfer and that was fine. He also told them to just send him a text when they decided to transfer because he was tired of looking at them, which i found hilarious. Why did they transfer?

Provided he's telling the truth, I agree. Not sure how much good it would do though. He should publicly name that coach and school.

IMO, it would be like anything else divisive and controversial. The fans/donors/alumni of the school of the guilty party would defend the coach and stand by him, and everyone else would bitch about it.How do you think these schools, corporate donors, alumni would feel knowing that their coaches are doing things like that?
