I listened to these songs and meh. Just doesn't do it for me. The sound is definitely a far cry from Melophobia, so I can understand the appeal, but the songwriting isn't particularly good IMO. Maybe I need a few more listens.
They're songs you just listen to because it's a head-bobbing, toe-tapping rock-and-roll sound haha. They ain't gonna blow you away lyrically.

The Kricketts, Jesie Ritter, The Imaginaries, Kim Carson. I've seen them at Radio Live, a
local event sponsored by WUWF, our public radio station.
They are all very good, pretty mellow except for Kim Carson, the "honky tonk Queen of New Orleans"
I'm especially fond of The Imaginaries, a husband/wife duo from Oklahoma.

I saw what’s left of lynyrd skynyrd last night in fort fisher. I loved me some southern rock back in the day and saw several of the famous groups but I had never seen them. They played free bird for the encore. I gotta say it was unexpectedly emotional for me and a lot of people there. A song that was so iconic and brought back so many memories of my youth. And they nailed it. The small crowd singing along arm in arm …and when the guitar solo hit everyone went nuts. it was truly a religious experience.
They still tour??? Gary Rossington died. The only surviving member is Artimus Pyle and they wouldn't let him back in the band.
I remember when there was a legal rule for the band to tour...they had to have at least 3 original members. Ronnie Van Zandt's wife was really strict about it.
I guess it speaks to the legacy of the band and the song...and the experience of live music.
We stumbled upon the concert by mistake on a bike ride. I kept insisting it had to be a tribute band but the people around me were adamant it wasn’t. So i googled it and yes there’s no original members but they are touring.
They've been a tribute band for 30 years. Ricky Medlocke is a pretty intense presence. Train, Train is still one of my favorites.
The White Tie Rock Ensemble in Pensacola performed a tribute to LS at the fair last week, from "working for MCA" to "Freebird" they nailed it!
