White Whiplash at it again .. tripping

TRU CANE deserves at least some credit for acknowledging Grayson's recent bad behavior unlike many Duke fans using the "but he hit me first" argument. Coach K probably doesn't mind it much though. He himself has that retaliatory nature as evidenced by his actions/comments in the Syracuse non-handshake incident or the Indiana player bumping him at halftime. Kids model their behaviors after their parents.

I did not read all the post so sorry if someone has already posted this. If Brandon Ingram had tripped someone and then tripped someone else we would be talking about possibly sitting him the rest of the season. To actually have to wonder if Allen will be suspended or not is ashame. Tripping on purpose another player is equilivant to slapping someone. IT IS A FEMALE MOVE!

Not trying to be Stephen A Smith, but if a black player with Tattoos went around tripping people on the court twice. You already know what would happen. I used Ingram as an example because of his outward appearance with Tattoos. They may make him take his uniform off in the middle of the game.

The 'hit me first' argument is silly for a number of reasons. First, he was trying to walk up behind him close to bait him, then take off with a sort of swim move. Did he make contact with his head? I have watched it a number of times and can't tell. He may have. If so, it could have been intentional or it could have been accidental and that is if he did hit him, which we don't even know for sure I don't think. Another thing is if he did the best case scenario for Allen is that they both happened at the same time. Even in slow motion any contact would have been a split second before the trip. It is not possible for it to have been a 'you hit me so I'm going to trip you'. Allen also without a doubt would have mentioned it and he did not. He was going to trip him. He did trip him. I don't care that he isn't suspended though. Let him continue to play 40 minutes a game and be wore out for the tournament. Screw giving him rest.

The only narrative that I find utterly ridiculous is this nothing that he gets 'beat up'. He absorbs some contact. He also gives as well as he gets. Even on Gameday they pointed out that is a silly thing to say because he is the initiator most of the time.

I think we all know the little bitch flails and flops his way around for 40 minutes each night. We also know that he's dirty as he's tripped 2, possibly 3 people intentionally this year. The most ridiculous thing is that less attention is being given to the lack of discipline by Rat. As somebody said above, let that be a Carolina kid doing stuff like that and there would be an outcry for punishment. For whiplash, the story has evolved to well he's just the next white duke player that everybody hates or he takes a beating so he deserves a break, etc. wrong is wrong no matter how you spin it. I personally hope somebody punches the little bitch in the face if he does it again. Even then they will place blame on the kid who retaliates and not whiplash. I also find it humorous in his interview after the FSU game that he tried to act like a tough guy. He's a clown.

While Grayson was obviously wrong and should not have his actions swept under the rug as no big deal, I doubt we need a 150+ thread on here about it and to keep harping on it. He has made mistakes and hopefully he matures from them. However, let it die. Not worth the extended harping on it.

Ha- that's a good one Jericho.

Sorry, disagree about letting it die. It should be shouted from the roof tops.

Just makes us look petty, imo. We all know we only have this thread and all these posts because it is a Duke player. He was shady. He got caught. He should have got punished. He didn't. But it is what it is. Who cares at this point? Let's just beat them on the court.

I think you're spending a lil too much time rubbing elbows w the dookies ... If you honestly, as a UNC fan, don't get why this thread is so long then idk what to tell ya .. If the shoe was on the other foot people would be talking about UNC the same way .. Nothing petty about it. Call a spade a spade

Absolutely they would.

And what would we be saying to them?

"Yeah, our player is wrong. He should be suspended. Hopefully he matures from the incident and hopefully you all mature from your petty bashing our player who made a mistake."

At least, I hope that would be our response.

I mean, he deserves the press over it. He deserves backlash. But, at this point it is iver with. Who cares?

Shove it down their throat on the court.

I would agree with you if they didn't have 50+ page threads on their board on "The Carolina Way" and another 35+ page thread ripping on posters here. That dookbaggery lends itself to threads such as this.

I absolutely agree with the "shove it down their throat on the court" ... It's a message board .. We talk .. And I agree w @Hark_The_Sound_2010 .. 50 plus pages of one guy in his science lab trying to deface the Carolina way is enough for me to talk about whiplash for another 10 years

Hey look everyone, Ratface finally spoke about this .... now we know why he didn't suspend White Whiplash. Awwwwww poor wittle dook :-(

"I would not suspend any player for what would be a flagrant 1," Krzyzewski said. "What he got was the stiffest reprimand a player in our conference has gotten this year. I thought the (ACC) took action and you've got to move on. The world doesn't move on, because it's Duke."

The world doesn't move on, because Duke is a bunch of douchey assholes.

^Fixed that for K. Also, the world doesn't move on from the positive things for Duke either. They were talking about K's 1000th win for weeks if not a month before/after it happened. I didn't hear the rat whining about that.

I find the whole K is going to handle this notion laughable, about the only part of it that K did not like is that it was so easy to see and that made him have to go in to this Gayson is the real victim spin. long long history of duke players pulling off junk like this and just as long is the history of K defending it. The surprising thing is not that a duke player does something like this, the surprise would be a game where they don't, now that would upset K because they would not be aggresive enough for him.

K wants to be a bully and that is how he wants his players to play, he wants his teams not just to beat the opponents but to beat them badly and especially those that are well known weaker. Just like any bully that gets hit in the mouth he goes crying and making excuses. He wants his players to get in opponents heads and maybe push a retaliation moment. The trips are nothing more than get in his head Gayson, make him retaliate and maybe get thrown out of this game. If the refs and the league are not going to do anything about such things then it has to be handled on the court by the players. You have to punch him in the mouth, in a basketball way of course, not a fist fight. A stray elbow here, his getting under cut on a drive there, a hard foul or 3 by a player off the bench on a basketball play will send that message effectively.

Don't know where this was cited from. But I don't see any mention by the LOM about his having addressed it with Snidely Whiplash, or any type of punishment that might have meted out. And I have to believe he would have mentioned it if there had been. Of course I'm sure he gave him a stern talking to, something along these lines.

ETA:
"The Hall of Famer spoke to his leading scorer after the Florida State game and Krzyzewski apologized to Seminoles coach Leonard Hamilton before calling the league."

So the LOM "spoke to his leading scorer". Again, probably along these lines:

Here ya go ... bottom half of the article:

^ Two interesting tidbits from the article:

#1: "We've been through a long month where our kids have just played their butts off and have won amazing games," Krzyzewski said.

This guy just loves that word.

#2: The Hall of Famer spoke to his leading scorer after the Florida State game and Krzyzewski apologized to Seminoles coach Leonard Hamilton before calling the league.

They leave it at that, that K apologized and then called the league. I wanna know how that conversation with the league went. I'm sure it was something along the lines of - you guys better not suspend him for this incident, if he receives anything more than a slap on the wrist, which we can call a "stern reprimand" you all will lose your jobs.

K can roll with whatever he wishes. It is his team. His flagrant 1 comment is a mistake though. If Allen did it again, and then a fourth time, and maybe a fifth time, would he suspend him? Of course. He would have to, though it would be done for him anyway. So it has nothing to do with the fact it may be a flagrant 1. He is always kind of fishing for a way to make Duke the sympathetic figure though, which he attempted with that last comment. I get it. He just doesn't realize that only part of it is because of their success. Some of it is because of the type of actions their players have portrayed over the years. It is a little of both.

Fair enough. I'd think that too if I was in your shoes. None of us are in the lockerroom so we can't say for sure. I'm sure it will be addressed, just no idea how.

I don't think this makes him a bad kid. He just got carried away a few times. It happens. I did and said things when I was 19 that I regret. It happens in the heat of the moment even beyond the age of 19. I trust it will be corrected because it ought to.

Get real,if K wanted it stopped it would be.That trip was on purpose and then he acts like what happened?
