Who goes to the bench?

Berry is a lot of the times being sold out by bad shows by our bigs on screens which is leading to the big essentially screening Berry out of the play.
This^^^. Spot on, as I pointed out above.
JB's on-ball defense has been the best in the team and it's not really close. Literally the only issues last game in his individual D was closing out on KSU's guy on a couple of 3s early in the second half. Roy pulled him for a short time to send a message and that got fixed. Against NIU, until he was hampered by foul trouble he more than held his own against their bigger aggressive PG. The problems came when our Bigs didn't do their jobs on high screens.
I can tell you from experience the toughest thing for a PG to play D on is a screen coming from a Big behind you. The onus there is on your Big teammate to communicate and/or make clean shows. That hasn't always happened.
And then I read someone saying Britt did better?... when he is out there they don't even have to use screens.
Honestly, when I read some of those posts it just makes my head hurt.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I've been specific about where I think JB has problems (losing his man) and where NB has problems (staying closer, but being ineffective).

Nor have I said that JB's defensive lapses are the reason why we aren't good on defense. I am simply reacting to the often-repeated uncritical gushing about what a great defender JB is - because he just isn't there yet.
There has been no "uncritical gushing". I call it when it's good and when it's not. There has been a lot more good than not. Nothing more, nothing less.
You, on the other hand are making a lot of statements ITT that, quite honestly, show a lack of clear understanding of the nuances of the game.

Since I have started rewinding and looking at more plays, I have seen the exact opposite of what you describe.

Maybe we are just rewatching different plays or different games.

Again, not trying to be disagreeable and for sure not trying to trash your opinion of what you see. I don't know what you look for and of course 2 folks looking at the same thing can easy see things differently. All can add, and maybe you do the same thing, but when I re-watch a game I tend to watch very little on ball on either end, I tend to watch more off the ball action. I like most everyone find it harder to watch a lot of off the ball action during a game live so I am always interested in the other game (what happens off the ball) after I watch the live game.

But the opinions I have expressed are based much more on off ball issues because what happens on the ball is usually set up by the off ball action, both the good and the not so good. You make the spot on point about Joel being hung out by our bigs showing to long & to far, solid point especially with Joel James but Meeks gets caught in that to often as well. Many times we really do not talk on defense as much as we should and that is vital to a smooth defensive front.
