I bitched about those as well. Once I had what I thought was a sure two, and it ended up being five. I don't care how obscure or unlikely, give me a word that doesn't mesh with half a dozen others.
should've guesses blimp after that. cross off 4 options with one guess
“Cater” recently broke my streak of 58 since I started. Ugh! I had “_ater” pretty early but there are a lot of words with this last 4 letters.
I would have guessed cater on #6 if I took the time to go through the possible options. Instead I said “eater” for #6. How stupid am I ?
Not stupid at all to get tripped up on one of those. I was not at all sure about cater when I rang it up, but the word today was just a rectal extrapolation for me. I was desperately just trying to get a clue with my fourth attempt, and to my great surprise they all came up green. Much luckier and a lot more satisfying than guessing which variation of '..eam' to choose.
today's was a word that I have started with and considered using this time. It would have been sweet to nail a one.

the funny thing is, my right hand man just had his newest kid delivered several days ago. The word 'natal' was never spoken between us but then again I had no problem seeing what the target word was (because it was on my mind?).

Ironically, I used it a couple of days ago when I was talking about my youngest child's birth. She had to spend some time in the NICU.

Ha, I see you @toophly1124 with a bit of the same luck I hit on. That is, not just getting so many letters right on the first try, but guessing right out of a set of so many proper solutions that they could take one past the limit and then some. I hate these, but today I feel like I kicked a little ass.

if that's for me, I did the 'share' thing just like I do with Wordle but I can't tell if it showed my results because for some reason this laptop doesn't display properly. I can't really tell what it is showing, but it looks like it's showing no results. Can you confirm? Tomorrow I can say what I did if need be.
