Play caller? Dude Andy Reid calls all those plays.

This guy is a coordinator for an offensive genius head coach, doesn’t call the plays, and has a mutant freak god QB. Something tells me all those things are why he doesn’t have a HC job, not cuz he’s black.

eric is the play-caller in reid’s offense...reid’s offense is the same as the packers and bears, that’s why they got those jobs...this is actually talked about a lot because reid is so terrible everywhere else.

reid probably has veto power or say “let’s go for it” though.

He does not call plays.

From the Undefeated:

Although Bieniemy lacks the playcaller title on his résumé, he’s involved in helping Reid with the weekly offensive game plan.

From Fox News:

Bieniemy doesn’t call the plays but helps assemble the game plans.

While Reid calls plays, Bieniemy has gotten spot opportunities, particularly during the preseason

Still wanna say he's the play caller?

Well, I didn't know that. As the OC, I just assumed he was the primary play-caller.

I also think it might actually hurt some coordinators chances when their teams advance deeper in the playoffs, as the teams looking for coaches are ready to get the new guy hired and starting the rebuilding process.

He interviewed and could have been hired.

He must not interview well, and that’s really everything these days. All you hear during these owners press conferences is how blown away they were from the interview that they had to hire the guy. Happened with Ruhle, Judge, and McCarthy.

I would be shocked if it had anything to do with race.

If anything had to do with race, I think it'd be more likely that the teams he interviewed with already had their guy in mind but had to interview him to satisfy the Rooney Rule. So he might not have had a realistic chance from the get-go.

Yeah - and I think that happens a ton.

But where I think the Rooney rule is beneficial is that he can get some post-interview feedback from people on things he needs to work on so he'll be that much better in his next interview for a team that is genuinely open.

this is when all of the smart people go “what did he just do?”
I think KC wins this one. But if Tennessee can burn clock on long drives (and score TDs, of course), ya never know.

It's supposed to be really cold on Sunday there so that would seem to favor the titans. Tackling Henry is already tough enough, but when it's about 15 degrees, sheesh.

Giants hire Garrett as OC. I think its always a smart move for a first time HC to bring in a dude that was previously a HC. And JG knows the NFC east teams, so that's a bonus.

no...but he’ll get in because of rings.

one of the most overrated players of all-time.
Exactly right. No way he should have two superbowls and two sb mvps. The first one the giants defense 100% won that game.

Eli will get in largely because he played a lot of consecutive games and he was fortunate enough to be on teams that bailed out his average play. He’s always been the poster child for “wuss” to me.

also, never an all-pro and the only yearly statistic he lead the league in was int’s.

he was tough though...i recall him getting crushed regularly and he just got right up.

His draft day tantrum/refusal to ever play a snap for San Diego set the tone for his entire career. I lost all respect for him after that.

It's funny how people shit on Eli for his move yet those same people don't seem to use that against Elway. To me, it's the principle.

people say it sometimes...the difference is elway had baseball leverage...he even warned them leading up to the draft...i smell what you’re cooking, though.

also, elway was great, top 5 ever imo.
