I dunno what an "independent pretender" is. I'm about as Libertarian as it gets- Socially liberal, fiscally conservative. There are a few exceptions on the socially liberal part that I will lean conservative. I can back it up with every vote I have ever cast. I also try to keep an open mind to how issues and events evolve to possibly recognize that a change of heart, or understanding is necessary. That takes humility.

Sanders' ideas sound great to the ear, but the path to attain them is unclear. In fact, I think it's a fantasy. Sanders is someone I would trust as far as not being bought-off. That's important. I don't agree with any of his policies, in terms of how he plans to make them a reality. Also, he is a full-blown Socialist and I don't believe his level of Socialism has a chance in this country. I have seen him refer to other countries like Norway, Germany, and other smaller countries, in reference to what America should, or could, be like or emulate. America is too big and the States impede the kinds of policies he would want to implement. If America were 50 smaller countries, then those kinds of policies might work... in some of them. For example; When I hear things like "free college", I cringe. Free college? How is it free? And, if it's free, how good is it? And, how much does a person appreciate, and aspire to attain, anything that is free? I can understand how it would be ideal if college educations didn't put people in a lifetime of debt. But, to make them "free" sounds like a magic trick.

Also, this raising the minimum wage is a bad idea. Are we going to raise the wages of people currently making $15? The ones that had to probably put in a bit more effort- education, training, trade school, etc.- in order to get a job that pays $15 an hour? When I started working, the minimum wage was $3.30 an hour. It's been raised and raised. It never fixes the situation. The problem is the monetary system, not the mandatory wage people are required to receive for any given job.

By the way, to your first paragraph; you're dealing with one of the most simple-minded people I've encountered here.
