Walking Dead - possible SPOILERS!

After reading this thread and not watching for so long I feel like this show has become similar to Lost, where they just kind of went with the flow without understanding the consequences and were pretty much ******* in the end.

Yeah but Lost didn't needlessly write people out of the show just because the network didn't want to pay them.

TWD doesn't necessarily feel aimless and incoherent like Lost was. There always does seem to be a plan, its just that the plan is endlessly plagued by cliches and horrible writing. Everything they write is just so fukkin stupid that its hard to comprehend how these people ever got jobs in Hollywood.

It was absurd that Rick wouldn't hallucinate Carl or Lori. The actors probably told them to GFY when they asked them to come back for this episode. Good for Chandler Riggs. They royally fukked him after he had bought a house in the local area and everything.

The issue with the show is they made the seasons too long. This show would be perfect for 10-13 episodes per season, they keep prolonging this shit by adding movies, spin offs, entire episodes dedicated to one person that really doesn't advance the plot, etc. They need to get back to the basics.

I'm actually glad they didn't kill Rick, and I thought they executed it perfectly, given the circumstances. Rick still being alive leaves potential cameos open and a spot in the series finale, if there ever will be one. I thought it was very well done, especially his conversations with Shane and Hershel.

Seriously though. I can't get over the fact that they did a time jump right after his "death." The main character of the show "dies." The one that brought everyone together. The one who's basically married to Michonne, has a kid and is like a brother to Darryl. They aren't even going to spend five minutes on the emotional impact that has on them? It's just straight trash.

Yeah, that's the one part I didn't really understand. Maybe they still will somehow, but I don't know. Not sure what's gonna happen with Maggie either since she's supposedly leaving too. If they skip ahead and she's just gone without a proper exit, I'd be scratching my head over that one too.

Yeah I'm pretty much done with the whole thing. I already stopped with Fear spin off a couple of seasons ago. I liked the show better when the group was on the move featuring the trials and troubles they met on the way. Once they started settling into towns with the factions continuously battling, it just got boring to me. So I'll find a better way to spend that hour on Sunday nights in the future.

Apparently Michonne isn't going to be around much longer either. My guess is next season will be the last for the show. I don't plan on watching it anymore unless they do a flashback at the beginning of the next episode to show what happened right after he died.

Supposedly Lauren Cohen only signed for six episodes of season 9 which means next episode will presumably be her last episode.

Anyone watch last night?
yeah, whisperers making their first "appearance" was cool and anytime Carol goes on a killing spree I approve but beyond that it was kinda meh. I assume we jumped forward like 5 years minimum but Michonne's baby looked 2, maybe 3- didn't make sense. Also you would have thought that in those 5 years the surviving saviors might have gone somewhere else or been killed by one of the other communities, not just randomly show up once the show starts again. And finally it looks like they're going to have Judith take over the Carl/Negan relationship.

I didn't watch it. I was hoping they might show at least the first couple of days after Rick's "death", but it sounds like they didn't. I doubt I'll watch it again. I'll probably watch the movies just to see what happens with Rick.

There is literally nothing on Sunday night right now that I'm interested in watching so I will stick with it.

Just finished first season of outlander. It starts slow. Real slow. But holy shit it takes off around ep 3. science fiction, long realistic soft porn scenes with full nudity, graphic violence and a love story to boot for the lady to enjoy.

That's what Netflix is for. I finally started watching Mad Men, so I'll be watching a couple episodes of that to fill the hole.

Christ dude, you haven't watched mad men? I would kill to have worked at Sterling Cooper in the 60's.

No one has a comment about Sunday's episode?
I just assumed everyone stopped watching. I was highly skeptical of how they were going to pull this off without Rick, but they have. I'm glad I didn't stop watching; I don't miss Rick at all, to be honest, and I'm shocked to say that. This show has been excellent.

I’m pretty stoked about alpha and especially beta who is played by Ryan hurst. That’s perfect casting IMO.

But fear should have kept Madison alive and had her transition into alpha. That would’ve been a badass crossover

Who is Madison?
I stopped watching it.
It's actually been quite a bit better. The Whisperer reveal was pretty good even though most people knew it was coming.

The mom from FTWD. They killed her off though

Stopped watching that show a loooooong time ago. Not sure I made it all the way through the first season.

Season three was really good. Then gimple got involved and season four was complete garbage.

The only reason why I was still watching was Rick and Maggie. Now that they are gone I have no reason to watch.

That wasn't her last episode was it? And also wtf did Michonne do to piss off the hilltop?

Yeah she’s gone for now. We won’t see her again unless she gets another contract signed with AMC.

She shut down the “fair” idea. Some cooperative type situation with the communities.

That's it? Lame.

I think there's more to it they haven't revealed yet. There was obviously some friction between her and Maggie during the time jump. I think they'll gradually tell more of that story.

Maggie will be back once her other tv show gets cancelled... Which probably won't be long after it's debut.

If the ratings continue to drop like they are, the Walking Dead might be canceled first. I know they've started working on next season, but that might be the last.

I doubt they cancel it but who knows. The ratings are still good just not juggernaut ratings like they used to be.
