Being 10-11 deep was the common prediction here.
I was one who expressed my expectations of a deep team. Maybe not 11, but 9-10.
But that came with some serious caveats. Let's look at those....
1. RJ would shoot like RJ.
Verdict: not yet.
2. EC would turn the corner and be the guy we expected last year.
Verdict: Mostly true, but still inconsistent.
3. Seth would continue to improve and have the confidence to shoot more.
Verdict: Spot on, and then some.
4. One or both of our hotshot freshman would be starter quality.
Verdict: Looking good. They're still frosh, but both might meet our expectations. Already close.
5. JWash will be strong, have the stamina to play starter minutes, have a good enough motor, and continue to shoot well.
Verdict: Not yet. Not on any of those 4 measures.
6. Withers will improve his consistency and
earn a starting role.
Verdict: Better than last year, but not really there. Marginal starter.
7. Lubin will be good enough to start.
Verdict: Not yet.
8. Cade will fit in and continue his 2-year streak of hitting well from deep.
Verdict: Not yet. Not even close, on either measure.
