Early Games

I saw this chart somewhere. Is it accurate? If so, we have a bunch of strong opponents early on. Kansas early and then a loaded Maui? Wow.

This only lists 11 non-conference games. I assume that's because of the ACC expansion?

In conference I saw that we play home-and-away against Pitt this season, in addition to the usual suspects, Duke and State. A total of 21 conference games.

Good news is we don't travel to the west coast this season in conference, and we get Virginia at home. But our away conference schedule is pretty rugged.

Transfer Portal Thread (Update 6-4: Onyenso to K-State)

for UNC fans. All three are big men. One is 7-1 center, Maxime Raynaud, who played three years at Stanford. He is a native of France who averaged 15.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. He entered the portal yesterday. I am not at liberty to say who the other two are. One is expected to become available before the end of the week. If and when he does I will post his name immediately. The other is not a certainty to leave his school, but the watch is on. He is a very well know post player who most here would be somewhat familiar with. Let me add that the Tar Heel interest in the portal will be for a post player. I am not led to believe that they are tracking perimeters at this time.

Class of 2026 Recruiting Thread (Updated 6-9: Kendre' Harrison info added)

The Tar Heel coaching staff has started recruiting class of 2026 prospects and we believe will hit start hitting them hard this summer and fall, so we are launching the 2026 thread. We will post all content and related notes to the class in this thread.

We start the thread with in-state star Kendre Harrison from Reidsville (NC) HS.

Netflix Finds

I've been watching a lot of documentaries on Netflix lately, widely ranging from the story of Compaq, to the development of toys like He-Man.

Well, I kept scrolling through other suggested documentaries and came upon Wild Wild Country, the story of Bagwanshreerajneesh. Anyone north of 40 years old might remember hearing of him in the early 1980s but as I was about 12 or 13 when he first made local news, the name was about all I remembered and some sort of "cult." I decided to watch it (a six part series) and was drawn in. Most of the footage is old so don't expect a lot of HD video, but even though it was done on what looked to be a low budget, it was compelling. They leave it to the viewer to decide who the "villains" are and most of the major players are interviewed throughout the series, telling how they saw things back then and you can see their perspectives (well some of them) shift as the story advances in time.

I hesitate recommending TV shows because everyone has different tastes but if you remember the Bagwan but never knew the entire story, it's worth checking out. Even if you don't know the story, it's pretty good.

Anyone else find anything that isn't on the "front page" of Netflix or Amazon Prime?
