"The Shot"... list gets yet another added to it!

The list of "The Shot" by UNC players is long... But, that shot by Nance is up there with some of the all-time greatest shots in UNC history! That has to be the closest to the end of regulation in school history. He BARELY got it off. Amazing execution by both players on that one!

Noah Rogers and UNC

Per Rivals, UNC and Noah Rogers are still in talks, and it appears that those talks are active and ongoing.
Well now... I wonder if this is one of the mysterious phone calls Mack talked about.

Here's the link:

Here's what it says:

Rogers has been solidly committed to Ohio State since late June but there are teams still trying to flip him. North Carolina is the main team involved and it's interesting that Rogers hasn't completely shut down their efforts. There have been recent conversations between the two sides and a visit to the nearby Chapel Hill campus isn't out of the question. Of course, Rogers's brother is on the team but the Tar Heels and their explosive offense with Drake Maye under center could prove to be a big factor as the Early Signing Period gets closer.

Do we have a shot here at a flip??

@Deana_King ? @andrew jones

Can we get him to flip?

Hubert needs to decide if he wants to be the HEAD COACH!

Anybody who knows anything about basketball could easily see that the talent gap between OSU and UNC was not very close. But for a stretch in the first half where OSU stretched the lead, and then in the 2nd half, this team looked as unfocused and careless as any witnessed in a long time. Of course, in both halves we had to endure the usual dose of Caleb's nightly audition for the NBA with back to back to back 30 ft bricks. Then you get the ball back with a 1 pt lead in regulation and what happens? Somehow we have Leaky jacking up a 3 from the corner? Leaky should know from day one that any shot other than a layup gets him a trip to the bench. We may win this thing, maybe not, in OT. But Hubert needs to do his job and put and end to the foolishness and control this basketball team. If not, things are not going to end well this year.

Quick stuff (OSU game)...

...and thank you, Jeff Lebo (and Dean Smith)...

So... one of the things I learned from Coach Smith was always be prepared. And even though they don't come up often, when "special situations" arise, be ready. So..., 2 seconds left, length of the court, down 2 --- ya practice what we called 100, 200 or 500, depending on time and situation. OSU played right into our hands by shoughing and allowed the half-court pass/timeout option. Now we have a fighting chance, and Jeff draws up a cross-lob for Pete and SPLASH!.... and I'll tell ya what, that was JUSTICE for a long day!

- I've watched OSU before and they were as advertised, midwest thug-ball with guys who should be on a football field --- cross body-blocks on D, and on offense more walking than senior day at the mall. Thing is, you hafta play thru CONTACT, and we did a lousy job of that in the first half. You also hafta clean the glass, and fortunately that improved later.

- playing against such a physical team also exposed our need for a legit PG, but we finally overcame that by increased aggression and Carolina basketball.

- as for the latter, we recovered from almost getting blown out by finding our TRANSITION mojo in the first half and by SCRAMBLING in the second. Folks, going to 44 got us back in position to pull this one out, make no mistake.

- Lordy, we still make some of the worst passes to f*** up transition possessions, but we made enough good ones at key times.

- Also, geez, we couldn't buy a 3 in some stretches, even with good looks, but how big was Leaky's down the stretch?

- big-time positive numbers: After getting killed on the glass in the first half, we outrebounded them by 6 for the game! --- and 20 Assists ain't bad either. We also cut down on the stupid TOs in the second half.

Anyway, take that, national media! A good day, with the Zags beating that idiot Oats, capped off with the good guys winning one for truth, justce, and the Carolina way!...
