I think someone was chatting from the dugout so he decided to pitch a hissy fit and order somebody down off the top step of the dugout.

This is after he called a ball a strike that was four to six inches below a pitch he called a ball in the same AB.

I have seen a lot of Clemson, Duke, State fans bemoan the fact we have avoided an SEC team throughout post-season play up to today (nevermind that Oregon State is probably 1 of the 2 best teams in Omaha). It would suck to validate those criticisms.

No I seen it and he has also given Bergner some questionable calls... However the umps did not cause McGee to step back on a catchable fly ball, Datres to miss play a ground ball that might of turned 2 or Woodard to call Bergner’s 3rd best pitch on a 1-2 count

I think they said he was just protected back to 3rd base so if he got thrown out at the plate he would have just gone back to 3rd. No brainer to keep running though.

He was only protected to third because he didn’t attempt to score. The runner is protected as soon as he is interfered with. If he goes to the plate, it’s my understanding that he would be protected there. Just can’t be advanced from third if he retreats
