@coolwaterunc what is Tyler Flowers good for?
Coming in to this game:We're gonna go 1-161
Absolutely nothing. Good god y'all.
I did. Don't talk down to me.That was an Edwin Starr reference that y'all were supposed to chuckle at. Oh well.
We might be years behind where we thought we were.Bases loaded, no out, down 5.. we only manage 2 runs. And the only reason we got 2 is because the pitcher covering first dropped the ball on a sure-fire Jace Peterson double play.
And sadly, I feel that's the very best we could've hoped for.
All hinges on if dudes like Soroka pan out once they get to the show. And if our FO decides to ever start improving our bullpen. It does seem like there's much more questions than answers right now.We might be years behind where we thought we were.
Well he made contact.Next up, arguably our best contact hitter in Markakis... flies out.
Another 0-2 w/ RISP in the 8th.Well he made contact.
Enjoy it while it lasts. The Reds have the worst starting staff in baseball, by far.Reds.......6-2 that is all.
That's what I am doing now. You probably won't see me in this thread much longer!Enjoy it while it lasts. The Reds have the worst starting staff in baseball, by far.
Dump Roe or O'Flaherty and call up AJ Minter. That would be a start. And if our FO decides to ever start improving our bullpen.
They won't call Minter up til July. You know, because baseball.Dump Roe or O'Flaherty and call up AJ Minter. That would be a start.
Yep, because bringing him up a few months earlier is going to be a detriment to his health and ruin his career. They won't call Minter up til July. You know, because baseball.
An omen for our season, perhaps.lol So apparently there's a stoppage of I-75 because of a foam tomahawk spill. Can't make this up.
That's going to make traffic a little choppy.lol So apparently there's a stoppage of I-75 because of a foam tomahawk spill. Can't make this up.
You mean B.J. Upton wasn't?!It's a shame Markakis had to be on our worst teams. He would have been such a perfect fit for our division winning teams.
I think you've been too hard on him, honestly. He'll always hit single-digit homers in a season, but I think that's fine. He's off to a slow start (Who isn't on this team?), but he's not going to hit in the .100s for long. I don't think he's a bad leadoff hitter either. I expect around .280 from him, and I think he'll do just that. Nothing wrong with that at all.Wow. Inciarte ran into TWO homers in one game. Put that one in the scrapbook.
They really wanted to add quirks to the park to give it a unique feel. Everyone -- inside the organization and outside -- hated how symmetrical Turner's outfield was. Basically, the Braves organization had to accept Turner as their new home after the Olympics. It's common practice for an Olympic city to "donate" Olympic stadia to local teams in more of an attempt to justify the huge expenditure for a one month sporting festival lol.The only thing I don't really understand about SunTrust Park is that low 6' section of the wall in left field. What is the point of that? I have a feeling that will go away in the future.
No one cares about your East Carolinian no-baseball-team-having metal-head ass. Don't ruin my excitement on today of all day's.The best thing that will happen at SunTrust park this year will be the Metallica concert.
I hope you're wrong, but you're probably right. The best thing that will happen at SunTrust park this year will be the Metallica concert.
You might be right. I have no opinion on it as of now. Lots of talk on sports radio down here has been that the outfield configuration most likely isn't finalized. There will be an experimental phase. Wasn't it the Mets who moved their wall back 10 feet after opening Citi Field because they realized balls were flying out?Meh...you can make it unique without a 6' section of a wall. As soon as an opponent gets a cheap homer because of that thing, it's going to piss me off mightily.
That's really the only thing I have a problem with, though. That place is outstanding, to say the least.
The Mets' case was the opposite. They realized nobody could anything out of there, so they had to move the fences in.You might be right. I have no opinion on it as of now. The Braves have done their homework though. Dobbins Air Force Base is just a mile or so away from SunTrust Park, and they've teamed with the Braves to do a lot of wind speed/direction studies. So the Braves think they have a good idea of how the park will play, but you never know until you get a season under your belt.
