Well... this one caught Auburn's recruiting guys off guard. Interesting for sure, but UNC is his dream school, so... why not let him visit? If I had to guess, I imagine it's just him following through with his visit. After all, his family did say he was going to reschedule after the LNWR was ruined by Hurricane Matthew. Can't imagine Roy would tell a recruit that he can't visit.
Still don't think anything will come of it...
What happened there? He was being talked about and some thought he would end up here, and then poof.Watson, not offered, intended to visit..he was refused
That's my thinking, too.If he visits and wants to commit, it would be very foolish not to take him. First, most here seem pretty sure PJ is UK bound. Second, even if he opts for UNC And we've accepted Brooks, there will be a scholly available. Personally, I think Brooks is Auburn bound, but I say take him if he wants to come.
I would love to see Stokes at UNC... but there's been nothing on him for months, has that ship sailed? That's my thinking, too.
OTOH, I see that Tennessee picked up a big yesterday. I wonder if that will have any effect on Stokes.
Just my opinion, but 2 of Huffman, Manley and Brooks I would not consider "projects." Multi-year players, yes. But projects, no.If we takes Brooks, it's a pretty good indicate that the Vanderbilt/PJ ships are going elsewhere.
If we miss on both of them, I'd much rather see Roy lock up the scholarships for 20818 than take a shot on 3 projects in the same class.
Agree with your first line, disagree with the second. The frontcourt will be super thin and 3 players are needed, even if to just absorb the contact in the paint. If we takes Brooks, it's a pretty good indicate that the Vanderbilt/PJ ships are going elsewhere.

Well Arch, the timing is a little better now, what with the early signing period almost upon us.If he visits and wants to commit, it would be very foolish not to take him. Oz, the last word was we had stopped recruiting Stokes... but then that was the last word on Brooks too...I would love to see Stokes at UNC... but there's been nothing on him for months, has that ship sailed?

Roy could easily say, "well son, if this dude named PJ doesn't commit, we'll take you" ... or maybe Roy wants to load up with Bigs.
I'm assuming his "transcript" issues have been cleared up, so hey...
If we takes Brooks, it's a pretty good indicate that the Vanderbilt/PJ ships are going elsewhere.
Mikey, I was talking about this with someone off-grid and that's my best guess right about now. Neither consider themselves traditional "Bigs", so even a Brooks addition wouldn't be a deterrent.Nope, Roy is playing his cards just right, leaving room for one of the 3.
Gary, been following Zion a bit lately. He is a GROWN MAN. I like is game.Mikey, I was talking about this with someone off-grid and that's my best guess right about now. Neither consider themselves traditional "Bigs", so even a Brooks addition wouldn't be a deterrent.
Also was reminded that Brooks is showing up on a strong visitor weekend, what with Jalek and Platek also being in town on OVs and apparently Zion now coming up as well....
Agree. He should be priority # 1,2 & 3 for Roy in 2018Gary, been following Zion a bit lately. He is a GROWN MAN. I like is game.

The Vanderbilt ship has sailed over the cliff.
There's no reason we couldn't take 3 bigs and one of the hybrids for a 6 man class. In fact, if the hybrid is concerned we might have to play him in the post then taking another big might actually help us there. And there's no way a player like Brooks scares PJ from coming here anyway. He'd start over everyone at either the 3 or 4 no matter what.
My preference, lock up a 3rd big and cater to the positionless desires of Vanderbilt, PJ, and Knox.

He is indeed. Hope we can pull him from the local clutches.Gary, been following Zion a bit lately. He is a GROWN MAN. I like is game.
Be very surprised if he leaves the state
Our biggest worry right now may be further south.id be surprised if Zion doesn't end up at dook ... hope I eat crow on this !
Mike been on this site long enough for you to know I very seldom get into who goes where but it will be a major upset if he leaves the stateBest get ready to be surprised then.
