No reason for this team to get down by so many in the first half other than not being prepared properly
This IS Davis. His teams swing wildly between extremes. Davis teams are inconsistent.
Smh...the poster i responded to asked if we even want Powell and Jackson back. No, that statement was not for the whole team. Good one though.
Ian is gone, he’s 100% entering the draft (not saying he’s ready, but he’ll go)
I do hope Powell returns and plays the whole year at his more natural SF position

How many more years will the roster be blamed? Program would have been better off getting blown out by dook in the ACCT, missing the tournament and being forced to make a change.

you didn’t do your job in getting them ready, or you didn’t have the right guys on the roster - either way this is mostly on you Hubs.
The play in win doesn’t mean Jack either. They were borderline team to get in.

#10 - and eke in, win a play in game, and are an exit in real first round
Not an acceptable coaching performance by any means
Without a complete roster change and possibly coaching change we will see this again next year.
RJ, 5-15 from the floor, 1-7 from trey and had open looks, Cadeau 8 assists but 1-7 from the field, bal game right there.
Correct - this Roster that Hubert put together is extremely flawed. There was zero development of this roster by Hubert. And that’s why Hubert shouldn’t be employed here.
He’s also a helluva basketball coach douchebag. Obviously better than what we have.
I don’t think he should be fired I am on record saying that because of NIL and GM ignorance
But I also do not think he will survive even with a paid for put together Roster
His preparation is bad when he looks like he’s coaching their terrible , when it turns into a street ball game down 20 with not structure they are actually better
Even with that if they would’ve defended and rebounded in first half they’d have been ok - with just a couple more made shots
There’s so many different stats that can be the “ballgame right there” moment. For one coming out prepared to defend and I could go on too.

I thought it was more the defense in the first half. No one individually set the tone and Ole Miss was really comfortable for about 25 minutes. I'll loop in Jackson to your point. Could've used his scoring today but he's been MIA for a while.
True, I hope they stay but something seems off with IJ. If he is not a 1st rounder, will he hit the portal? It seems he hasn't been in it for a while and I wonder if he is half out the door. Will there be others? It'll be interesting to see what happens here.
I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way I do but this loss this year doesn’t sting like years past. I mean I really didn’t expect much from this team after about half way through the season so it’s hard to be heartbroken. It’s gonna hurt more if dook wins it all.

this seems like a want to and chemisty issue…how can a team play that bad one half, as seen before, then play better the other half?…either they are adjusting or not…the roster hasn’t changed, only the sub patterns.
not sure it’s coaching so much as it’s the players…let’s see what a gm does.

Fair points I guess - but can you point to something hub did or ran, decisions he made during the year with the guys he had - to ever make a player or the team grow, be better - compete and win against a team that had approximately the same (a little better or a little worse) talent?
I don’t see anything is what he does that says to me “yep, we may have suboptimal guys, but he gets everything (or even 80% of optimal) results out of what this team is capable of , their ceiling. “
Maybe that’s just me. Hub shouldn’t be making that big money at a blue blood to just mark time and make golly gee fluffy talk excuses.
There are enough really good coaches at midmajors etc who have proven they can get a lot out of a group of non 5 star players. Basketball strategy guys. Hubert has never had success as head coach.bubba should admit the mistake and move on.
Homestly - can hub or anyone point to a factor or instance this year that convinces anyone that job is growing, is a good trending toward really good coaches, promising for the future? I don't see one thing of growth in hub at all on his 4-5 years or whatever

I agree totally. But I checked out on this season a couple of months ago. I’ll check the score and maybe tune in for the last few minutes if it’s close or we’re ahead. I have better things to do.
College hoops is just not the same. Portal. Paying players. Pacific coast teams in the Atlantic Coast conference. Lack of effort / talent on our team. Hero ball. Few in game adjustments. Little player development.
maybe pressing more, seemed to work most of the time…posting lubin up more seemed to catch groove this year…lol does hub get credit for that?
jackson and powell disappearing is mind blowing to me…are they just not built for this?…does hub get roasted for that?…i just don’t know.
Exactly. Dean would have taken the starters out for their effort at the beginning of the game.
