Morley Safer (of 60 Minutes fame) has died at age 84. Only a week after retiring - would have been a good pick.
But in all seriousness, I don't wish Parkinson's Disease on anyone. There's way more to it than just the visual shaking. My mother's father fought a long battle (10+ years) with it and ultimately died from it. It's a tough disease.
With the first pick in the supplemental draft, Checkin' Out; Cashin' Out replaces Muhammad Ali with James "Whitey" Bulger.

If anyone wants out before the next round starts up - speak up now, after a couple days you'll all be locked into the next round if you don't. All side bets for the first round are now off. I believe it was only the one I had with @jcolucci . But obviously we can get any side bets started up again for the second round. Let me know if anyone wants side bet action.
If anyone does elect to bail prior to the next round - then best case scenario is another poaster just wants to assume their list. If not, their people will just go back into the pool to be picked from (and therefore if one of them dies, it doesn't reset the pool since no one will "own" them). I'd like to open it up to any new interested parties - but not sure if they would be getting an unfair advantage/disadvantage. There are already 60 people picked, so at first glance it'd seem like any newbies would be getting a raw deal - but on the other hand, they get to make their picks now, with 3 months of new information that we didn't have at the original draft, so that's an advantage. I guess it would even out - so if anyone wants in on it this time around, let us know.
It seems easiest to just have THN pick a new pick and have everyone else keep their people - so that's what we're doing this time. If anyone has ideas on how to change it up prior to the 3rd round, please share. I was thinking that everyone would keep 3 (or more) of their current picks, and get to do 1 round of double picks (or less if you choose to keep 4 or 5). That way we could mix up the lists, without needing to do a long draft again, just one draft slot for each poaster. Thoughts?

Noted. If there are any lurkers that aren't in the pool yet and want to pick up jcolucci's list of: Jim Nabors, Jack Burke, Marv Levy, William Fridge Perry, and Ethel Kennedy this would be a great time to get in! Otherwise, I guess this list gets released to be picked in the future, assuming they don't make themselves ineligible before then. I think we should figure out a way to let newcomers in if they want (maybe just have them pick 5 names at the beginning of a new round) - otherwise attrition such as this will end up widdling the pool down to just a few of us in a couple rounds I think.
Yup, let's keep it simple. Noobs can enter at the beginning of a new round and pick any unclaimed names, including any that might have been dropped by somebody exiting the pool.
