The Devils were unexpectedly good last year in Mike Elko's 1st season as HC. Can they take another step up in 2023? If so, they will win at least 10.

The ACC needs Clemson to take care of business tionioghtm rather handily. The league needs both FSU and Clemson looking sharp and remaining high in the ratings. Clemson hosts FSU Sept b23. The ACC needs that to e ba match of unbeaten teams. Then Clemson hosts UNC November 28. The ACC also needs that to be a match between undefeated teams.

Dook is looking very good. The Devils stopped Clemson on the opening possession. The they marched down the field and hit the FG to take a 3-0 lead.

If the openings 2 possessions tell the tale of the season, then Dook will be a bit better than last year, and Clemson will be less than FSU this year.

Klubnick throwing high, very high. Garrett Riley has not solved the Clemson QB problems.

Dook was controlling the game until the muffed punt that Clemson recovered. 1 stupid mistake can totally change games.

Dook D is playing very well. The players all seem to be in the right position every play. This is one old fashioned, hard hitting football game.

Dook is not going to back down the least little bit. Elko was no fluke 1st time HC last year.

Clemson can't get back to even because Dook keeps standing up right and Clemson keeps making little mistakes, which all add up.

Facts.,Dook got some dogs on defense.
That's the attitude on the whole team. They are blocking with power and playing special teams like men possessed. That kind of fight can and will overcome quite a bit of talent.

Mike Elko is the type of young coach that UNC has needed to hire. This Dook bunch is piss and vinegar, pure fight in them all the time.

And the worst part is that you know they are focused most on ruining UNC's season.

Dook players have just hit and hit and then hit some more. The toughness across a program that we all have seen making UNC football weak? Well, right now Dook is right the opposite .

Realistically, having a game on Clemson early is probably a lot more helpful than preserving the possibility of picking up a big win against a highly ranked Clemson team at the end of the year. Beating FSU in the ACCCG would guarantee a great bowl appearance anyways. We won’t need the resume boost.

See all that talk about leaving the ACC has gotten to their heads. Dam lOSing tO DooK is a real wake up call.
Great win for the Devils. just WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kinda ruins the opening weekend for the ACC. Looked good with us and FSU pretty easily handling SEC teams in primetime. Then one of the best ACC teams gets embarrassed by duke. ACC always finding a way to **** it up.

except it could be viewed in terms of increasing parity within the league....that is, the better teams are still better but the lesser ones are catching up.

The ACC needs Clemson and FSU to be in the playoffs. Nobody wins with duke being better because no one cares about duke football.

I heard that Clemson has 56 4 and 5 star playes on the roster and Duke has 2. They also gave a bunch of analytics stuff that I didn't follow.

Sucks for ACC on a national stage, great for ACC regarding the champ spot being wide open. FSU is the fav, but plenty of favorable schedules out there now that Clemson is down one.

This is viewed as the league being even more mediocre rather than the league producing more quality.

MAYBE it is. It could be viewed as I said. I don't know. You don't know. We'll see.

That's my feeling too. This is more Clemsoning.

When Elko was DC at ND, a number of Irish boosters thought he was the final piece needed on Kelly's staff for ND to win a National Championship. He left after 1 season, thanks to huge A&M money. He's a Dave Clawson protege, starting at Bowling Green. He went with Clawson to Wake, and he really liked the ACC. It seems he might be able to top what Cutcilffe did at Dook. Th's not good for UNC if the program is not keep[ running at a top level.

They looked fine most of of the time, but at every key moment, they beat themselves.

FIFY. Not taking anything away from dook, they really played to win....but it would have been a contest had Clemson not shot itself in the foot every chance it got.
