Well, it's a couple of things. First, the "Dutch" are from the Netherlands. People from Denmark, which is the country/government who issued the new covid guidance referenced in the thread, are known as Danish or Danes.

Second, there is the debate of referencing the guidance as something being made "illegal" versus a recommendation. I believe those are the two sources of debate and what the "bet" was over. If you've read posts from the respective posters, you can easily figure out who was taking what position and who should be getting a new avatar.

Why are people aged under 50 not to be re-vaccinated?​

The purpose of the vaccination programme is to prevent severe illness, hospitalisation and death. Therefore, people at the highest risk of becoming severely ill will be offered booster vaccination. The purpose of vaccination is not to prevent infection with covid-19, and people aged under 50 are therefore currently not being offered booster vaccination."

Those under 50 without special conditions are not eligible to receive the new vax/boosters; hence that makes them illegal for those under 50 minus some small, rare exceptions.

The only thing interesting here is the $1 million dollar award from Israeli Dan David foundation, right?

- He's making a massive salary, that was going to happen regardless of pandemic.
- Fed gov job comes along with great perks, those were going to happen regardless of pandemic
- His investments in general fund did really well in 2019,2020,2021 - so did everybody's. The market almost doubled Jan 19 to Jan 21, his being concerned with the pandemic didn't "pump" the general stock market.

You havw no idea what you are talking about. The vaccine is unavailable, not offered, not approved, for general use of those under 50. So a doctor cannot administer that without breaking the regulation; hence it being illegal.

You guys got to dig deeper or put this one on the shelf. Presumptively, they have something equivalent to our process where drugs (that are on a list as not over the counter or "herbal" in nature) have to be authorized for administration/prescription. That document would lay out the limits of what is or isn't authorized and for whom. Then you'd have to find the statute(s) or other prohibition for administering or prescribing something not on their approved list, etc. Only then can it be determined what is legal or illegal in their country.

Media reports of what the newest guidance is or isn't will not cut it. Until you have the authorization of use language, you'll never actually know because there could very well be language that allows doctors the individual authority to prescribe it in any given circumstance at their discretion - which pretty much opens it up to anybody.

Here's the law. It is illegal to dispense the vaccines outside of the guidance and approval rules.

While I appreciate the light reading of the Danish Medicines Act, it's the other half of the equation that you need. Basically, this is what I expected and what I meant when I was drawing the analogy to our own system. They've got a procedure in place that oversees all medicines/drugs and that's what you attached. It's got a ton of references to what the "Minister" and "Agency" can do in any given situation.

You need the newest version of what I think we called the Special Use Authorization. ( @blazers help me out on the name or our equivalent - you're usually up to date on this stuff.) If you don't have that document, you can't determine what they are allowed to do or not allowed to do.

And this is the critical point of the change from previous recommendations. This doesn't mean that they can or can't in any given situation where a person and their doctor determine it would be beneficial. That goes back to the actual revised language.

i got nothing, just their official website screenshotted above which says plenty of people under 50 will be offered the vaccine/booster.

The kicker is that the Danes involves the term "higher risk" and the Danish are WAY more healthy than the average American.
