They are now calling for MORE than 30 inches here in NOVA thru Sat night ...and I just had a slight muscle pull in my back NO JOKE!!!! man this shoveling is gonna be crazy. Gonna do three shifts of it starting tonight, then Sat am.noon and then when it is finished
Speaking only for Burlington, this 1000 year blizzard is a joke. I was just driving around and anyone, including my 19 year old daughter, could have easily navigated the streets in a rear wheel drive 1974 Oldsmobuick with bald tires. But damn if every restaurant isn't closed, except for Panera which sucks because they took my favorite sammich off the menu.
It hasn't even snowed one tiny bit here and all of my vendors are emailing me saying they're closing for the day.
Pussies.
I love these.
On a side note, remote connectivity is the worst invention ever. Who wants to have to log in and work from home on a snow day? Oh well, videos like these will help me through it.
It appears to be no serious injuries, so just let me say what a bunch of IDIOT drivers! For the most part, they were going too fast for the conditions, or just flat out pulled out in front of oncoming traffic... or both. dip$hits!

At 9am on sat I can officially say that this is THE WORST snow storm I have ever experienced in my 62 years on earth
Shoveled about 6 inches last night.. Woke up to easily 2 feet of snow with 35 MPH winds and stronger gusts. Just buried had to dig out some so our dogs could do their biz White out as I write this with about another foot expected before it ends around midnight Just brutal and the worst I can ever recall. Thankful the power had remained on This snow is a dryer snow THANK GOD!!! I Will be glad when this one is over.... when all is said and done I am expecting approx 3 feet with much larger drifts up to 6 feet in spots

6 to 8 inches in Weaverville. South Asheville has 12. Norther borders is closer to 12 as well. So far, enjoying "down time" cooking for the family. Last night Chicken n Dumplins tonight chicken veggie stew. Also made chili, cornbread, cornbeef hash, biscuits, eggs, sausage. Enjoying family until we all bug out with cabin feaver.
My location is Ashburn Va about 5 miles from Dulles Airport .We typically get the brunt of snowstorms in the DC area and this is no exception .Just shoveled again It is unreal how much snow we have..... I hope to post some pix my wife takes of just how buried we all are I am upping my total to approaching 4 feet ....NOT an exaggeration and it is STLL coming down hard ,winds blowing at around 30 mph with higher gusts Again I am grateful to have power and that the snow is of a drier kind
These "airport totals" are really inaccurate there is a lot more snow and the total will IMO approach at least 36-40 inches and perhaps more

Well we are still snowed in on our block ....there is at least 4 feet of snow/drift on our street and we are by NO means alone in this. In fact MOST people In the NOVA are still house bound with plows unable to get to many many side residential streets.
Main roads are passable and relatively decent.... But residential streets are still a disaster. Our community HOA says we will probably get out of our block by end of tomorrow. Al I have done since Sat morning is shovel endless mounds of snow and watch sports on TV and eat. Again fortunate we have always been with power
Looking forward to getting out of the house ( cabin fever) and going to the store..... hopefully Tomorrow
