With all due respect, Mpls / St. Paul used to be nice cities. Not any longer. Not much nice at all about either city. High crime, high defecits, HORRIBLE police / mayor relationships, wrong priorities all around. Mayor of Mpls is just a young guy. His ineptitude during this protesting and rioting will be legendary....and not in a good way.

If you're a cop long enough you're bound to have complaints filed against you. This guy - Louchin - had a long complaint list - including killing a native American in his past. Interesting trivia - guess who was a state prosecuter who let him off for that? Amy Klobuchar. Othere interesting trivia... Louchin and Floyd worked together as security at a Mpls restaurant - nobody thinks this had anything to do with the murder though.
I've talke to many dozens of people here who know the families, Louchin, etc. Two things seem 100% universal.
1) Nobody - absolutely nobody - thinks there was anything remotely excusable, good, justified about Louchin. Everyone I talk to thinks he should rot in jail - all 4 cops, really. Nobody makes any disclaimers that I've heard. Even IF Floyd was on drugs (wild reckless, abhorrent speculation at this point), so what? Floyd was subdued, handcuffed on the ground. If on drugs and incapacitated, how in the F was he any sort of threat?
Louchin's wife filed divorce the day he was arrested.
The Floyd family seem to be really stand-up, great people. As was George, by all accounts. The family are begging and pleading for rioters to stop, because they are discrediting the memory and the honoring of George himself. Most of the rioting have almost nothing to do with Floyd.
Making it political is a great start! We’ll choose a party to blame and claim the other party that we support has moral hi ground. Then the supporters of the other party will in turn blame us and claim moral high ground as well. This way I’m sure reform will be right around the corner as supporters of both parties realize the error of their ways
Some friends and I were discussing this while on a long run Saturday morning. What would we have done even if we were right at the point of where this POS cop killed Floyd? Many bystanders were surrounding the crime scene, screaming and pleading to let Floyd up, get off him. Those who were approached were met with mace and pepper spray to the face by one or more of the four cops.
As a bystander, you charge the cops, you get possibly killed, pull w weapon on the cops, you get killed. What can one do when these 4 were amped up on power abuse? They all need to be arrested and tried on murder charges. but I have no idea how a bystander could have helped Floyd out, without risking gerri f killed themselves.
Could be some of these people at the riots. I don’t know enough to deny it. I do know there is a lot of evidence regarding antifa and the most radical bad elements of BLM being on site. And yes both of those groups are funded by George Soros orgs.
But it is really hard to tell who is actually at the riots and how many there are false flag posers for other groups they are directly opposed to. ie - it doesn’t take a genius group to plant right wing propaganda at the sites to make it look like a right wing group did this. And vice versa for BLM / antifa.
I just want all these rioting groups to get checked hard, obviously regardless of what pol wing they come from.

Interviewing of the rioters and looters - really- and most all were discussing George Floyd and slavery and oppression and race relations. I never heard a word about the lockdown, civil war, gun rights, etc. not one.
Check out Andy Ngo and his recent tweets about how this is textbook antifa / BLM and their tactics. Antifa leaders hiding behind local unsuspecting young people looking to riot for a cause.
Ngo is an expert on antifa and and BLM. Studying and reporting on them for many years. They hate him so bad - attacked him and caused bleeding in his brain via an antifa / BLM attack about a year ago.
FWIW Ngo is a gay Asian writer / blogger. Not exactly the poster guy for white supremacists.
interesting that for a while people in Mpls thought the rioters were shipped in from out of town. Turns out 80-90% of arrests are local Minnesotans. I sense the professional rioters are wise about how to not get arrested, though. Local amateurs - not as wise in this regard.
This is a dumb ass thing to say the cops neighborhoods might be your neighborhood or mine. Why should mime or yours be looted? We didn't hurt anyone if someone comes to my house to loot I will shoot, then what are people going to call me racist for killing someone while trying to protecting my property and family?

i was only pointing out the irony that, 3 weeks ago, the state and local politicians (and many COVID fear mongers) would have LOST THEIR MINDS if groups of people were protesting/meeting in crowds like this coast to coast .... but nothing is being said about the COVID risk now. just funny how things go.
I listened to Floyd's brother talk today he said "im not out not out rioting why are you its not going to bring my brother back" and he is 100% correct. But then he said and listen closely @heelmanwilm. "Let do it a different way vote.. Not just for the president, but vote for the preliminaries. Vote for everybody. Educate yourself. Don't wait for somebody else to tell you who's who. Educate yourself and know who you're voting for."
Who is he talking about? I'm sure he is talking about Trump, but who else all the leaders in the community that has the police that killed his brother was Democrat. Is he implying voting them out?
That was the point I was trying to make about it being political and about who was the political leaders in these towns where this stuff happens.

I don't know much about Abrams - but I hesitate to give an opinion on her, given a couple posts earlier a poaster got ripped for complimenting a black women in this thread, so I can only imagine what the self-appointed board race police would do if my position on Abrams ended up unfavorable.
Klobuchar (from here in MN) - is tied to not prosecuting the cop (Chauvin) who killed George Floyd - in a different instance when Chauvin killed another person (a Native American) quite a few years back when she was a Henneping county attorney. Klobuchar being tied to letting Chauvin off years ago, and now him killing George Floyd = Game Over for A-Klo's VP hopes.
