Harry Giles with another knee surgery

This topic is dumb. If Giles wants to play, he will. If he doesn't he won't. No one is going to force him into anything. I hope he does play and Hicks posterizes him.
Much ado about nothing. Bottom line is that he won't play unless he and his parents agree to it. If they agree that it's in Giles' best interest to play and he's been cleared to do so, then he will. The responsibility for anything that happens thereafter lies with the parents.

I fully expect Giles to play for duke at some point this season, want to make crystal clear that point. I as well 100% believe that the decision for him to play, after the teams doctors have cleared him to practice is going to be up to the kid himself. Mind set of a player is a player wants to play, yes, even at times when it may not be the best decision to do so, a player still wants to play so I fully expect Giles to do just that.

And I sincerely hope the kid can play and not have another knee issue, I am not going to say I wish his team any luck at all outside of the bad kind but I don't wish injury on any kid, some things are more important than a game.

As one of the few Blue Devil posters I respect, do you think Giles is a lottery pick whether he sits out the season or not? IMO, he is.

Hard to say.....I would think his talent would cause someone to take a risk and pick him lottery. That's my opinion. But the question is if the GM's will view him as damaged goods and be afraid of him being another Greg Oden.

I agree about a GM taking the risk, he's just so immensely talented. I think the NBA's GM's biggest concern now involves letting him get 100% healthy before he's cleared to play. Everyone knows I'm not a Krazywhiskey fan but I don't think he would jeopardize Giles' career by playing him if he isn't fully cleared to play by doctors and his family.

Damit archer, ya gonna make me shower in pine sol again for sayin this! LOL

I can assure you of 1 thing, K is not going to bring Giles back until the duke doctors clear him for practice and play. No coach would be that dumb, it would open up that coach and that school for a monster law suit as well as totally kill the reputation K has worked so hard to craft just like he wants it to be for the last couple years. There is just no way he would risk such a thing, especially a kid that now has had 3 surgery between 2 knees, kid is one strong side cut from a 4th surgery, way to risky to not listen to their team doctors.

How is the topic "harry giles with another knee surgery" dumb? Is it not a fact that he had another knee surgery?

Not a dumb topic but I'm astounded that this topic can go 6 pages. I mean, so the kid is having surgery. Thanks for the update. What else is there to say?

Read the topic. People saying he won't play or will play or shouldn't play or should play or what insurance companies or GMs are saying regarding it. All nonsense. If he wants to play he will.

Excuse me. I really didn't want to say it, but this thread is almost as bad as Crooked Hillary. Some of you are unfit to post on THR, which I love dearly. Believe me, nobody loves THR more than I do. Please support me and help make THR great again!

Mr Trump can you arrange a wall, I mean a really big wall to be built around the NC State campus and have them pay for it? There is nothing there but a bunch of deplorable libs, most are likely illegals anyway. Once we get the wall built can we extremely vet anyone that wants to enter or exit, those that become a problem maybe we can send them to gitmo for a little extra wetting vetting? ? If we could do that it would be Huuuuuge!!! ;)

By the way Mr Trump, your daughter does have a nice rack, good job with that! LOL

This is about a dukie. Put it to rest. Don't wish bad things on people, but I really don't care about the team in Durham or their players. We do not need a thread about a dukie. God speed!

obviously it has to be credited first....never mind I'm sure we are boring the shat out of everybody else.

Let me give you an example:

You invest 2M in a lifetime income annuity with a guaranteed minimum 7% annual credit at age 20.

1st year ---2M x 7% = $140,000 credit (age 20)

10 years x $140,000 = 1.4M

2M + 1.4M = 3.4M (by age 30)

3.4M x 5% payout for life = $170,000 income per year for life

This is a simple explanation, but there are other scenarios that can make this worse or better. For example, the annual pay-out can range from 4-7% based on age, with the higher payout percentages as you get older. An investor can get more than 7% credited in a given year if the market goes up higher than 7%. Bottomline, if a player invests his rookie contract money wisely, he can have nice little nest egg at age 30 even if he has to work as a janitor for the rest of his life after a career ending injury.

The topic is he had another knee surgery, which is a fact. What people do with it is up to them. You can call some posts you disagree with stupid. But confused on why a fact topic is stupid.

LOL. Coming from the person calling other people stupid. Sounds like someone needs a hard look in mirror. What a joke.
Damn I didn't know you were an actual topic. What were your parents? A thread and a post? So, they got you... a topic?

The Duke fans don't care about Giles and neither does K-Rat. I have been saying exactly what Jay Williams is saying for the last 12 months. Giles can't even get an insurance company to insure his knees. Greg Oden is back at Ohio State as a basketball trainer. I feel sorry for Giles but if he lets K-Rat talk him into coming back this year then it's completely on him and his family. I wish the best for the Giles and hope he has a full recovery. On the other hand, if he declares himself fit to play and gets out there and gets hurt again then his career is over. He will be the next Greg Oden. And believe me, I will remind the Duke fans of this tragedy for the next 5 years.
