How bout them Panthers!

Not many people are going to mention the Benwikere injury, but I think that's one to keep an eye on. Everyone wants to focus on Josh Norman (rightfully so), but Bene was having himself quite a year as well. The secondary just took a significant hit, and that's a concern.

Next man up...gotta hope P.Tillman is back and probably promote someone from the practice squad.

If Tillman isn't ready I guess the slot goes to the recently signed Cortland Finnegan. Possibly Kurt Coleman could move over from free safety and Tre Boston could move into the starting lineup in his place.

A comeback like this (should NY win) hasn't happened since I was in the 6th grade- 1980. As aRedskins fan, I'd really appreciate a Panthers win here.

Beckham should have been out long ago. Thug style ball at its finest. Norman is no saint, but nothing like that prick. He is moved quickly up my most despised player list.

Good poise for cam. Rookie running back mistake almost took us out, plus the blocked field goal. Well deserving win. How many times have we saw a team take their foot off the gas and start cruising and not be able to turn it back on. We should win from here on out

Outstanding job by the Panthers weathering the storm and pulling a tough win out on the road at the last second. Truly outstanding.

Was that an NFL game or a Wringling Bros. Circus? Listening to J.Norman all week leading up to the game yesterday, it was completely clear that he was trying to get into OBJ's head, and that appears to have worked...lol. That dude is awesome.

On a deeper level though, Carolina was playing with fire yesterday after going up 35 - 7. It's evident that they went on "cruise control" at that point -- they went ahead and took Ginn out of the game, began the process of shutting Cam down, and one more offensive series with the score the same, and they probably would have.

This is the second week in a row that Cam has shown signs of being hurt - last week with the hand going numb mid-game...this week clearly having some upper body injury he was playing through. If they are trying to win the Super Bowl and stay healthy, they have GOT to see their foot on the gas and not allow teams back into games. They did it against the Colts and Packers too -- it wasn't just yesterday's circus. Cam said it after the game, they have to have the killer instinct the entire game. They would have dropped 50+ points on the Giants yesterday if they had kept up the intensity.

Both Beckham and Norman should be suspended. That display those two clowns put on yesterday is embarrassing to both teams. Can't say I'm surprised the refs let it go on, but they really should have ejected both. Beckham's helmet to helmet after the play on Norman.... Norman ripping Beckham down to the ground by his facemask... how were those allowed to happen?

J.Norman is by NO means a saint, but come on man... OBJ wore "Joker" shoes for the game LAST week -- he was clearly psyched for this matchup well ahead of time, and he was completely out of control. Go look back at how many punches OBJ threw. Just about all of the altercations you saw from J.Norman were a retaliation of something OBJ did.

That is NOT an excuse for Norman, but there's no rule against trash talking to get into someone's head -- that happens in every game, in every sport...hell, our very own MJ used to be a master at it. But what OBJ resorted to was targeting with the intent to injury Panthers players, plain and simple. He acted like a little spoiled brat who couldn't handle a little bit of adversity. The media drools over this chump b/c he can make a few acrobatic catches with stick'em gloves, and he's just not used to having negative attention and he crumbled.

I definitely agree. I'm trying to be impartial because truth be told I hate OBJ - without those gloves he'd be average. But yes, Norman did help instigate the whole thing. Don't get me wrong, if I were in his shoes I absolutely would have retaliated when OBJ started all his crap, but then I'd deserve a one game suspension too. Think OBJ should get two games and Norman one game, OBJ was worse but both were at fault.

What exactly did Norman do to warrant a suspension? He probably deserved he flags he got, but did he try to cheap shot Beckham into a concussion and intentionally hurt the guy? No. Beckham is the only one who should be suspended here. I don't think Norman should even be fined. He didn't do anything Richard Sherman doesn't do on a weekly basis. He got into his receivers head, and Beckham completely went insane. You can even argue Norman was just doing his job.

Norman got chippy, but I think its about 80% on OBJ. That POS took a running start from 10 yards away and went helmet-to-helmet on Norman; that should get him a 1 game suspension at least. Plus, he got away with more crap that didn't get called on him. Earlier in the game he cheap-shotted Cortland Finnegan, but CF got flagged for responding (which is usually the case). NFL should consider using replay for that kind of crap and get the instigator of the incident too.

Look at the replay right before that play. OBJ looked Norman dead in the face and pointed his finger, as if to say "I'm coming for you." I didn't think much of it at the time, but once that play happened with him targeting J.Norman, that wasn't only in the heat of the moment, you could argue it was premeditated. The dude just completely lost it on all levels. I agree 100% that Norman should not be suspended...and if fined, he'll probably appeal it.

Another result of this -- they won't admit it, but you KNOW the NFL is salivating over this -- how much would you be willing to bet there's a Giants vs Panthers game on primetime for the 2016 schedule? They won't hype that up at all...

Yeah, it's pretty much a guarantee Panthers/Giants will be on Sunday/Monday Night Football next year, assuming the Panthers pony up and extend Norman...

No way they let him go now. The fan revolt could potentially eclipse the Smitty debacle.

I doubt they play next year as the Panthers would get another NFC division to play next season; They would only play if the Giants are the NFC East winner and would have to play the other NFC divisional winners.

Wouldnt FOX just love it if somehow the Giants made the playoffs and had to play the Panthers?

When .OBJ hit Norman in the head Norman should have stomped a mud hole in his ass and his team mate should have been helping him!

Wow -- also just reported "Honey Badger" tore his ACL last night. Huge blow to that Arizona defense.

Roddy White - "Josh Norman is not tough..." -- http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14415269

Haha -- this one week after being blasted 38 - 0 and having your franchise QB benched during the game. Like the Panthers needed any bulletin board material for this weekend!
That was an idiotic thing to say. All he had to do was just look what Julio Jones did in that game (and every other game since Norman began defending him). WTF is he thinking?

It's kinda gotten out of hand today. I'm trying to focus on work but it's tough. Now we apparently have "BatGate" going on: http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/12/21/odell-beckham-giants-panthers-threatened-baseball-bats

Panthers have already come out and said they carry a bat to the game as a symbol that injured teammates are still with them in spirit. No big deal.

^ Ya, not sure what's going on with BatGate. Could be just another instance of ESPN/SI making a huge deal out of something minor (i.e. the academic "scandal", DeflateGate, etc.).

I am a bit curious as to why (according to the media at least) Norman and the staff were swinging them and/or pointing them at Beckham though, if true it seems like Norman instigated the "feud" pregame and OBJ continued it in the game. But Beckham saying he felt threatened is a joke. Does he really think someone was gonna crack him with the bat?

Take it for what it's worth, but the players said they swing the bat b/c they strive to make big, "home run" plays during the game. Said they do it in pretty much every game... Photos have come out of other teams doing it too. Again, no big deal.

Just saw where OBJ got a one game suspension. Well deserved.

Agreed. Acted like a childish jackass.

Honestly, the refs should probably get docked as well. Was mentioned earlier that they allowed it to get out of hand. OBJ was throwing punches long before flags were thrown. And wasn't just this game -- he was apparently fined earlier this year for throwing punches mid-game against the Bills. FWIW.

I'm glad ODB got that suspension and prob should have been suspended 2 games for his punk ass moves but remember this is the same exact josh Norman who got into a fight in preseason practice with cam ... He is every bit as much of a punk he just held his ish together a little more
