I come in peace.

Im a Hoosier fan. I'm curious what you guys think about the match up? I'm very worried about Brice Johnson obviously, but IU will definitely drag him away from the lane and force him to work defensively. Btw this isn't the same team that played dook in December. I only saw you guys a few times this year beyond highlights and halves of games. I think it will be a dog fight.

IU will cause the Heels matchup problems. We had that a bit with Providence and we worked that out well enough. The freshman big guy is coming along for the Hoosiers.

Depends on how refs call the game. Troy Williams plays extremely reckless. If they aren't calling offensive fouls as much that helps you all a lot.

You should get eaten alive inside but if you all hit the 3 ball well we could be in trouble.

Optimally we would want to get you in a hole earlh and let you all recklessly self destruct.

But, we will see. Should be a good one. UNC is weak to good penetrators and the 3. You do both well.

I come in peace threads normally don't end well, just saying!

But all and all Carolina should pull away late and cruise home but will us it all depends on the heels team that shows up.

If we are at our best and you are at your best, we beat you. If we don't play well you have a good chance especially if you are hitting 3's. I like our bigs to be dominant.

It's gonna be a heavyweight match. The key for Carolina is going to be keeping Yogi Ferrell out of the lane and containing the kickout 3's. If Indiana is allowed to do all of that, the Hoosiers will be the ones moving on.

What has happened to Paige? He seemed like a stud his sophomore year. Do you guys have anyone that can stay in front of Yogi? Btw I really do come in peace! Lol

Jay Bilas played an extraterrestrial police officer in a crappy movie back in the 90's called "I Come In Peace".

Paige has played well. He just hasn't shot the ball well. All three of our PGs are good defenders but staying in front of Yogi will be a problem as it is for anyone. it is pretty simple IMO though. Does IU make enough threes? If so, you probably win. If not, I think UNC wins.

Not to disrespect Yogi but we just played the best PG in America in Dunn & did fairly well.
I expect Berry to go right at Yogi & try to get him in foul trouble like Dunn.
Living in western Ky & working in southern Indiana I see a lot of the Hoosiers games. IMO IU will have to make at least 10 3s to beat us.

Yea Paige has played well despite the shooting woes. Defense and he is playing more like a facilitator than a scorer. Taking less shots as well last 6-8 games. Only taking about 10 per game.

Yogi doesn't have the size like Dunn did. Berry and Yogi are built very similarly. I expect that matchup to be a wash.

Yogi is a lot faster than Dunn and has more of a team. I have not been sold on Dunn. Best point guards in the country just played each other(yogi and ulis). I think OG will be the X factor. He can seriously guard 4 positions at a very high level. This is going to be a classic.

Paige is still a stud and certainly better than anyone on IU's roster. Including Yogi. He is shooting 45% from 3 in the tourney. We'll take that. And Paige is a better defender and passer than Yogi. They are probably about equal at driving and finishing. Marcus has struggled shooting, to be sure, but he has been clutch in all aspects of the game over the last two weeks.... plus he just has way more options on this team to help with the load vs. Yogi on IU.

Beyond the Yogi / Paige comparison, the Heels have an even larger advantage at other positions. Brice Johnson - first team AA: nobody for IU can stop him. Same for Hicks. Too much size and skill for IU.

Joel Berry is the heart and soul of this team. He will do whatever it takes to get this team to win.

Justin Jackson - who from IU has the size and speed to guard him? Or to score over him, consistently?

Shutting down Paige AND Berry AND Jackson will be a load for you guys

That doesn't even get to our bench with quick smart guys like Pinson and Britt. I'll leave Meeks out of the equation for now - anything we get from him is a bonus at this point.

I know you guys are good and won the Big 10 by two games, and have nice players beyond Yogi. I just don't see the depth or the skill at other positions to stop us.

I hope and pray you try to run with us. Game over for you.

The main way I see you winning is by you being great from three - and I hope that we stay home and guard the three. We just beat pretty handily a team with better scorers than you have - in Dunn and Bentil.

Plus - if the game is called like the Big Ten games often are.... allowing obscene amount of physical contact (ie - FOULING) with no calls, to compensate for lack of quickness and basketball skill.... then that might give you guys an advantage, too.

Peace, out.

LOL at Yogi > Ulis and Dunn. All the NBA scouts who rate talent for a living - and have Dunn and Ulis ahead of Yogi - say Hi!

Saying that Paige is on the same level as Yogi at this point is a rose colored glasses comment. Heck Ulis couldn't stay in front of Yogi.

You may want to watch IU a bit. A lot of the questions you ask are fairly obvious. We play 5 guys in the 6'6"-6"8" range that are all pretty good matchups for Jackson for instance.

You guys have depth in the backcourt. We tend to wear other teams down & take their legs out of the game in the second half. It will be harder to do that against your depth. We don't have a great matchup for Johnson at the 4. We'll take Meeks/James out of the post when you are on defense and if Johnson can clean everything up at the rim, you will be favored. Otherwise, he may end up in early foul trouble. It has been our strategy against other teams with size similar to UNC (Purdue/Maryland).

I think you'll see multiple guys on Berry and Paige to throw them off but Yogi is a better defender than Dunn. Think you'll see us trying to prevent the entry pass to help our bigs, sagging off and daring you guys to shoot. Something similar to our Purdue game plan.

Looks like to me Ulis did a pretty decent job against Yogi. He did score 27 points & had 3 assist.
If Murray &/or a big showed up you'd be on a golf course right now.
I'm not taking anything away from Yogi, he's a great player but Dunn is the best PG in college.

If your Hoosiers want to run with Carolina,we'll see who has the legs at the end.

Ok yogi may be a better game manager. However he is not a better defender then dunn. Check his steals per game average. He also is a better player then yogi. Put dunn on IU and you will be claiming a different story.

This is college basketball and has nothing to do with the NBA
Sorry - I thought college BB, and NBA were both basketball. Same court same hoop, same ball, same rules.

Are you saying Yogi is a better player in college, but somehow these other guys (Ulis and Dunn) will be better somehow at the next level? Not sure I follow that logic, but OK, my bad.

Not to mention, unc have faced big time PGs all season...Dunn, Jackson, Allen to name a few. Yogi is just another PG on the plate to eat.

These IU fans really think Yogi had a better game than Ulis. Ulis was the better player in that game by far. The only reason IU won is because nobody else for UK did anything.

So are you saying that Hansborough shouldn't have been a 1st team all american? He wasn't drafted in the top 5 of college players...

We can play small ball too. Had Pinson on Bentil for a little bit and it worked out well. Roy is more than willing to adjust if we aren't taking advantage of our size.

I get your point. Hansbrough is a great example. He was a great college player and set all kinds of records.

I doubt anyone even on this board would've said that in that year, Hansbrough would be a better pro than Blake Griffin. I get that some players just have the physical gifts to excel at the next level. Griffin sure has more physical skills than Psycho T. Psycho T had a much bigger will and determination and fire.

During the Prov / UNC game, the NBA analysts (Reggie Miller, Kevin Harlan) calling the game were basically drooling over Dunn's physical gifts: size, strength, speed, dead eye shooting, ability to create his own shot, all at the NBA level. He will be a top 5 pick. I just think Dunn has those physical gifts advantages over Yogi, even in the college game.

But in studying IU better, I do believe they are way underseeded and under the radar..... pretty solid across the board, and a good shooting team. How anyone loses to Dook by 20 is a mystery though.

It will be a tough game on Friday. This may sound crazy, but I think the Heels don't get enough credit for defense. People say we don't play defense or are soft or lazy because we also play up tempo and love to score (which is the objective of the game).

We've held basically almost all of our opponents under 45% shooting, and many under 40%. And have one of the highest rebounding margins in the country. Boards and continued defensive intensity will be key for us. I don't see us wearing down. We are deep enough with very good defenders off the bench, to keep bringing good defenders.

Good luck and here's to a good game on Friday.

I know. You guys are deep. Really like how Pinson developed this year. While he's still working on honing it in, you can tell he's worked a lot on his shot. There is no longer a hitch at the top.

You guys are the best team we'll play. I don't think we'll win, but do think it will be a good game. You have more depth and are playing really well, shooting it better than your %'s state. Your ability to bring Hicks off the bench is something no other team, outside of maybe Purdue, can do and not miss a beat scoring on the block.

I'm interested to see the game plan by both teams. Yogi & Berry should be a nice match up, but this one could be pretty entertaining. I think you guys will be impressed with a kid by the name of OG Anunoby. He's going to play ball for a long time.

While I don't think Yogi outplayed Ullis, the game plan worked well. Ullis, and Murray for that matter, weren't very efficient. Ullis had 27, but on 20 shots. He also only had 3 assists and 4 turnovers.

That is exactly what we wanted. He can score, but don't let him score and distribute.

Yogi had 18 on 13 shots, but also added 4 assists with only 1 turnover.

The idea that Ullis dominated Yogi would be a box score mentality. Yogi had a much easier time getting past Ullis than Ullis had getting past Yogi to the bucket.
