Fresh talented legs, it was the point I was trying to make about our depth. When you keep fresh legs out there going against tired legs the fresher legs tend to get to those rebounds quicker.
It all depends upon the draft bug that has hit us the last 3 years. We've had 5 straight years of Mickey D's but most have gone pro right away. We don't get them at the same level as UNC so losing a guy so often makes it tough on teams like IU trying to compete with the current UNC, Duke, Kansas and UK's. With that said, if everyone returns and we add De'Ron Davis at PF alongside Bryant, Williams, Anunoby and we get Blackmon Jr, Robert Johnson (both injured and didnt play UNC) plus that PG from Pitt Josh Newkirk back at guards then in theory we could have a great year. We're being very hypothetical though so my expectations are low until we get these NBA situations determined.
Honestly, I think IU was the scariest team in our bracket. They were closer to a #2 seed than a #5. What a ridiculously poor seeding job by the Committee.
We staggered them early with a knockout punch, and they never really got their feet under them. Those early Paige threes were daggers. I don't think they expected that onslaught from him at all. It sort of demoralized them.
They hit us with a couple of mini-runs, but never really threatened. Glad, we beat them. I was nervous almost the entire game, even with like 3 minutes left. I feel like they were one hot player away or one run away from making me toss my cookies.
I wasn't nervous for the ND at all. A little annoyed when they went on that 12-0 run, but I still thought we'd wear them out.

After seeing us play, I think UNC wins that game at least 8 out of 10 times. I didn't have that opinion prior to the game. They were definitely the superior team and impressed me tremendously with their attitude. Seems like a bunch of really good kids.
While I do think the ND game and the upcoming Syracuse game will be harder wins than the Indiana game, I ONLY say that because we had played ND twice before that game and have played Syracuse twice already. Those teams know us to well for it to be easy. But I do think IU was a better team and more talented over all than either of those 2. I honestly believe had IU beat us they would have mewed down both ND and the cuse, Providence may have as well.
The only team I was really scared for us to play was UVa, still can not believe they melted down like that, that team is known not to melt down and yet they did, still can't believe that happened. But that is March Maddness isn't it, what should happen doesn't always and usually when you expect it least.
We beat ND in a neutral site game back in December but you never know. Either way, no one is going to beat UNC from here out unless a lot goes wrong in a game.
