The second issue is our positioning off the ball. We are simply not where we are supposed to be, which leads to guys getting the ball where we can't recover. ...... So the question becomes should something change because this team just sucks at executing the system. I don't know but we are one of the worst teams in the country at it and contrary to what many think we usually are pretty good at it.

Meeks, Hicks, JJ, all played plenty of minutes from their freshman year through sr years. As juniors and seniors that experience paid dividends. Luke, Kenny, and Cam are all upperclassmen but with minimal experience actually playing in Roy's defensive system. While Joel and Theo have lots of experience nobody on this team has any experience at all playing defense with no protection behind them. The problem is not the system, the game has not passed Roy by, the sky is not falling, and the world is not coming to an end! The University allowed an academic scandal, recruiting suffered greatly because of it, we're paying the price right now. It will be a little better next year and 2020 should find us back in contention for National Championships.

My 5th and 6th grade team can play better help D than we've been playing.

We keep trying to play help defense thus, leaving an open shooter and it's killing us. We give up an average of 10 made 3's per game and that is our Achilles Heel....no pun intended!!

I agree why do all players go so deep into the lane and then impossible to recover

I guarantee there was a lot less unimpeded drivers into the lane with seventh guarding in the perimeter. I think that next year we will be better defensively at least on the perimeter. Inside is god knows whose guess.

It sure seems we will have to allow Sterling and Garrison to take their lumps inside and quit helping so much. That has left kids wide open all season at the perimeter. We need to guard the perimeter and if Sterling or Garrison get beat inside, so be it. They will learn and grow up.

I think many people tend to only post when they are frustrated. There should probably like a 12 hour freeze on posting after a loss, lol Every board I've ever been a part of is like that though.

Exactly, a person don't need anyone's approval to post. I've been a member of this board for over a decade and, I stopped posting years ago. And for the record, Heelz Kitchen is my 2nd account because Rivals locked me out and restarted my post count.....why I have no idea.
